Udayana Dialogue X Rector’s Meeting 2025: Strengthening Collaboration Between Students and University Leadership

The Udayana Dialogue X Rector’s Meeting 2025, organized by the Student Executive Board (BEM) and the Student Representative Council (DPM) of Universitas Udayana, was held on Monday, December 8, 2025, at the Widya Sabha Auditorium, Jimbaran Campus. This annual event serves as a formal discussion forum between university leadership and students, aiming to strengthen transparency, accountability, and active student participation in campus governance. The event was attended by the university’s leadership, including the Rector, Vice Rectors, Chair of the Senate, Chair of the Task Force for Accelerating the Transformation to PTN-BH status, Deans, and invited heads of related work units. Representatives of faculty-level BEMs, Student Activity Units (UKM), and various student organizations of Universitas Udayana were also present.

The event was symbolically opened by the Rector of Universitas Udayana through the striking of a gong. In his remarks, Rector Prof. I Ketut Sudarsana expressed his appreciation for the implementation of this dialogue forum, emphasizing that “this activity is a manifestation of the maturity of campus democracy and our shared commitment to building a more progressive Universitas Udayana.”

The agenda continued with the Student Aspiration Podium, where students conveyed various perspectives, needs, and expectations related to academic services, facilities and infrastructure, campus security, and other student-related issues. Student representatives presenting aspirations came from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, the Faculty of Marine and Fisheries, and the Faculty of Animal Husbandry. Regarding the studies from 13 faculties compiled by BEM PM and DPM PM, the Rector expressed his appreciation, stating that “these studies are not merely documentation of issues, but highly important analytical materials for university leaders in making policies and ensuring that every decision is grounded in the real needs of students.”

Following the aspiration session, the event proceeded with a presentation of the results of the review of studies from the 13 faculties compiled by the student team. The forum then entered a student panel discussion session divided into three main panels. In each panel, student representatives presented case study findings, posed questions, and engaged in direct dialogue with the Rector. All discussions took place in a constructive and open atmosphere while upholding academic ethics.

The question-and-answer session involved students from various faculties, UKMs, and other student groups. Participants raised questions concerning various aspects of educational administration and student services, all of which were addressed directly by the Rector and the Vice Rectors in a comprehensive and proportionate manner. Each dialogue was conducted in an orderly fashion, demonstrating a shared commitment to continuously improving university services through open communication.

The forum concluded with closing statements from the Rector, Vice Rectors, and the Chair of the Task Force for Accelerating the Transformation to PTN-BH status, followed by the signing of the UKT Governance Agreement, the signing of pacts and official minutes, and the presentation of certificates to panelists and moderators. The event also featured a brief presentation on the Universitas Udayana Student General Election. The entire series of activities proceeded smoothly and orderly, reflecting a collaborative spirit between students and university leadership.

The Udayana Dialogue X Rector’s Meeting 2025 became an important momentum for Universitas Udayana in strengthening a culture of participation, transparency, and collaboration between students and campus leadership. This forum is expected to continue serving as a strategic platform to accommodate aspirations and formulate joint steps toward realizing a university that is increasingly advanced, inclusive, and responsive to the demands of the times.
