Udayana University and Universiti Malaysia Pahang Hold International Workshop on Engineering and Balinese Culture
Denpasar – Udayana University, through its Office of International Affairs (KUI), in collaboration with Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), held an International Workshop on Engineering and Balinese Culture at the Nusantara Room, Agrokomplek Building, Udayana University Denpasar, on Tuesday (23/09/2025). The event brought together 52 students from the UMPSA Extreme Club along with Udayana University students to participate in a series of academic and cultural programs.
In his opening remarks, the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information of Udayana University, Prof. Dr.Eng. Ir. Made Sucipta, ST, MT, IPM, stated that it was an honor for Udayana University to establish a collaboration with UMPSA through this workshop. Prof. Sucipta added that international cooperation is part of Udayana’s efforts to become a World Class University, particularly through strengthening academic and cultural exchange.
“The goal of Udayana University is to become a World Class University, and internationalization is one of the programs to achieve that goal. The collaboration with Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah is also a part of Udayana’s internationalization strategy, which has a significant impact, especially in promoting academic and cultural exchange between the two countries,” he stated.
Meanwhile, representing Udayana’s Office of International Affairs, KUI Secretary Made Chintya Puspita Shara, S.H., M.H., emphasized that this workshop marks the first milestone of collaboration between Udayana and UMPSA. She expressed hope that the event would spark new ideas, strengthen cooperation, and foster sustainable friendships among students and lecturers from both universities.
“We hope this program will inspire more ideas, encourage collaboration, and build long-lasting friendships between the two universities and among our students. Moving forward, we also hope this activity will lay a strong foundation for future joint programs, research projects, and student mobility initiatives,” she said.
Chintya also added that with the theme “Engineering and Balinese Culture,” the participants were not only engaged in academic discussions but also invited to immerse themselves in the local Balinese culture through various activities. It is expected that this experience will be a meaningful journey that opens up broader opportunities for future collaboration.
Representing UMPSA, Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Fitri Yusop, in his remarks, expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome from Udayana University and hoped that the collaboration would bring positive impacts to both institutions.
“It is an honor for us to be present and take part in this International Workshop. We truly appreciate the opportunity to collaborate with Udayana University and hope that this partnership will continue to grow stronger in the future. May this event be a meaningful success for all participants and yield beneficial outcomes for both institutions,” he conveyed.
