The event took place in the dr. A.A. Made Djelantik Meeting Room, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University Sudirman Campus, Denpasar, on Thursday (December 4, 2025).
The event was attended by Member of Commission X of DPR RI representing Bali Constituency, I Nyoman Parta, S.H., representatives from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology through LLDIKTI, the Vice Rector for Student Affairs of Udayana University, the Head of the Student Affairs Bureau, coordinators within Udayana University, the Head and Secretary of the PPKS Task Force along with the team, as well as representatives of lecturers, staff, and students from 13 faculties across Udayana University.
On behalf of the Rector of Udayana University, the Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Gusti Ngurah Alit Susanta Wirya, S.P., M.Agr., expressed his appreciation for the socialization of Permendikbudristek Number 55 of 2024 on the Prevention and Handling of Violence in Higher Education held at Udayana University. He emphasized that this regulation serves as an important foundation to strengthen collective commitment in creating a higher education environment that is safe, inclusive, and free from violence.
Physical violence, psychological abuse, discrimination, bullying, sexual violence, and any other forms of violence must have no place within the higher education ecosystem. “On behalf of the Rector of Udayana University, I extend the highest appreciation to Commission X of DPR RI and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology for collaborating with Udayana University in organizing this socialization,” said Prof. Alit.
This collaboration affirms the importance of synergy between the central government, legislative bodies, and higher education institutions in creating a safe and civilized learning environment. The presence of faculty and students from 13 faculties is a testament to our shared commitment to fully understand and implement this policy across all units within Udayana University. The active role of lecturers, educational staff, and students is crucial in fostering a campus culture rooted in respect, care, and integrity.
Udayana University has continuously strengthened its systems for preventing and handling violence, including enhancing the capacity of task forces, improving reporting mechanisms, providing assistance services, and upholding principles of empathy, confidentiality, and fairness in every process. However, these efforts will not be optimal without the active participation of the entire academic community.
Through today’s socialization, we hope to build a more comprehensive understanding of Permendikbudristek Number 55 of 2024, ensuring its effective and consistent implementation in the field. Our shared goal is to create a campus environment that ensures safety for the entire academic community to learn, teach, innovate, and grow.
Meanwhile, Member of Commission X DPR RI for the Bali constituency, I Nyoman Parta, S.H., emphasized that a campus must be a place where moral and humanitarian values flourish. “We all want to establish a campus environment free from violence and bullying. Intellectual development without moral foundation can be very dangerous; therefore, moral education must remain a primary pillar,” he stated. He also highlighted six types of violence that must be carefully addressed: physical violence, psychological violence, bullying, discrimination and intolerance, sexual violence, and violence embedded within policies.
The socialization also featured two speakers: I Ketut Wenten, S.H. from LLDIKTI Region VIII, who presented material on the Prevention and Handling of Violence in Higher Education Institutions (PPKPT), and Faridah Rahmah from the Bali Bersama Bisa Foundation.
