LAM-PTKes Assessor Team Visits Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, Conducts On-Site Assessment for Accreditation of Pediatric Medicine Residency Program

Denpasar – The Assessor Team from the Independent Accreditation Institute for Higher Education in Health (LAM-PTKes) visited the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, to conduct an on-site accreditation assessment for the Pediatric Medicine Residency Program. The opening session of the assessment took place in the dr. A.A. Made Djelantik Meeting Room at the Faculty of Medicine, Sudirman Campus, Denpasar, on Monday, August 25, 2025.

The event was attended by the Rector of Udayana University, the Secretary of the Institute for Learning Development and Quality Assurance (LP3M), the Head of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), the Head of the Information and Communication Technology Unit (USDI), the Head of the University Library, the Chair of the Faculty Senate, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and their team, the Director of Udayana University Hospital, Program Coordinators, and other invited guests.

The LAM-PTKes Assessors present were: dr. Aditiawati, Sp.A(K) (University of Brawijaya), dr. Dina Muktiarti, Sp.A(K) (Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia – Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital), and Prof. Dr. dr. Ari Yunanto, Sp.A(K), IBCLC, S.H. (Lambung Mangkurat University).

In his welcome speech, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Komang Januartha Putra Pinatih, stated that the visit of the assessor team is a valuable opportunity for the institution to ensure that the quality assurance system within the study program is functioning effectively. This is crucial, as the university is expected to produce competent graduates whose profiles align with the demands of stakeholders. Therefore, a robust quality assurance system is essential to guarantee that all institutional processes are carried out properly, in accordance with applicable standards and regulations.

Meanwhile, the Rector of Udayana University, Prof. I Ketut Sudarsana, emphasized that accreditation is a vital instrument for maintaining and improving the quality of higher education, especially in the health sector, which bears a significant responsibility for the quality of medical services and the future of the nation's generations. He further stated that this assessment process should not merely be seen as an evaluation, but also as a valuable opportunity for learning and continuous improvement.

"Through this on-site accreditation assessment, we will be able to evaluate and measure our capacity in delivering higher education services that we have been implementing over the past few years," said the Rector.

On behalf of the assessors, Prof. Ari Yunanto introduced the assessment team and expressed his hope that the assessment process would run smoothly and successfully.
