Jimbaran - Spokesperson team for the Rector of Udayana University held a Media Gathering at the Nusantara Restaurant, Jimbaran Campus, Tuesday (24/5/2022). This event was attended by the Rector, Vice Rector, Chair of the Udayana University Dharma Wanita Persatuan, Professors who will be inaugurated, the Rector's Spokesperson Team, and Chair of the Udayana University Professors Forum as well as online, print and electronic media colleagues. In this activity, it was stated that in 2022, Udayana University will again have 6 new professors. With the addition of 2 professors from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, 2 Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, 1 Faculty of Cultural Sciences, and 1 Faculty of Medicine, of course the total number of professors at Unud will increase.

The six new professors who will be inaugurated this Saturday, May 28, 2022 include (1) Prof. Dr. drh. I Made Dwinata, M.Kes., (2) Prof. Dr. Ir. I Putu Sampurna, M.S., (3) Prof. Dr. Dra. Ida Ayu Made Puspani, M. Hum., (4) Prof. Dr. Dra. Wiwik Susanah Rita, M.Sc., (5) Prof. Dr. dr. Tjokorda Gde Agung Senapathi, Sp.An., KAR., (6) Prof. Ir. Ida Ayu Astarini, M.Sc., Ph.D.

According to the Rector of Udayana University (Unud) Prof. Dr. Ir. I Nyoman Gde Antara, M.Eng., IPU. From the available data, it shows that the achievements of professors are on average quite young. If averaged, of these 6 professors the number of years or younger age. This means that academic achievement for professors can be achieved at a younger age. We continue to encourage professors to be achieved at a relatively younger age, that's our challenge in management," said the Rector of Unud.

Talking about the ratio of Unud lecturers with professorship titles, before this 6, it was 12 percent. That means it's very good, because the target of the ministry is at least 10 percent. "This means that for Unud, 10 percent has exceeded. Unud in this case is safe. But don't be careless because there will be a lot of retirement, of course the ratio can be less than 10 percent, that's a challenge," he said.

Then, at this time, Unud has approximately 365 people holding the position of head lector, which is the raw material for becoming a great teacher. It is hoped that these 365 people can proceed and be immediately confirmed as professors. In addition to the addition of professors, the exciting thing this month, the accreditation of Unud institutions, has increased from A to Superior. This is a big capital to go even further. "We are also planning the infrastructure of 8 Deans this year, as well as lecture building, Unud Hospital, Dental and Oral Hospital and other improvements," he said, while mentioning that what needs to be improved in the future is the percentage of students graduating on time.

Meanwhile, the Chair of the Unud Professors Forum, Prof. Dr. dr. Ketut Suastika, Sp.PD-KEMD., said that this professor's forum is expected to be able to contribute ideas, not only to Unud, but also to the regions, be it Regency or Province, as well as at the national and international levels. This, according to him, is certainly not easy. However, with the addition of 6 professors, it is hoped that they can contribute to the institution of Unud. "Hopefully everything will go well. As chairman of the forum, he expresses his appreciation and thanks to the Chancellor for providing the opportunity. "Hopefully we can contribute as expected by the Rector," he said.
