Nightingale XVII Social Action 2023 Education on the Dangers of Cyber Bullying at SMPN 4 Kediri Tabanan

 

Mental health problems among adolescents, especially junior high school students (SMP) are one of the problems in today's society. One of the triggers for the deterioration of adolescent mental health is social media. In this modern, all-digital era, of course, teenagers are no strangers to social media. Uncontrolled use can lead to misuse of social media, for example, cyber bullying. Cyber bullying is the use of the internet to harass, threaten, humiliate and ridicule other people.

 

In order to prevent the negative effects of cyber bullying, the Nursing Science Student Association (HMIK) provides education on the importance of self-defense and knowing how to deal with cyber bullying, so that students are protected from mental illness and its effects on physical, social and achievement.

 

This educational activity was held at SMPN 4 Kediri Tabanan on Saturday, April 29 2023 which was attended by 40 students from SMPN 4 Kediri and was attended by lecturers and staff of the Undergraduate Nursing and Professional Nurse Study Program (PSSIKPN) FK UNUD.

 

It was officially opened by the Coordinator of PSSIKPN FK Unud, Dr. Ns. Ni Ketut Guru Prapti, S.Kep., MNS., this event presented a guest speaker, Dr. Ns. Ni Made Dian Sulistiowati, S.Kep., M.Kep., Sp.Kep.J.

 

This service activity is held in the form of education and the creation of a wall magazine regarding cyber bullying and its effects on mental health. The additional activities of this service are measuring blood pressure and blood glucose for junior high school teachers. And at the end of the activity there was a handover of donations in the form of cleaning tools for the school.

 

This activity is also expected to be useful for students and students who are able to apply the knowledge they have acquired in the Undergraduate Study Program in Nursing and Nursing Professions, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University regarding the effect of cyber bullying on mental health.
