In fact, this team was originally born from an ambition of students in the Mechanical Engineering study program at Udayana University to take part in national-scale competitions such as the Energy Efficient Car Contest, so this tradition was continued until the Weimana Udayana team could become an SME and always register themselves to compete in the Energy Efficient Car Contest. every year. The Energy Efficient Car Contest was held with the encouragement to foster a research culture of students in Indonesia so that they could produce new innovations in the field of energy efficient vehicle design. The Energy Efficient Car Contest is expected to be a forum for students throughout Indonesia to be able to collaborate to advance energy empowerment in Indonesia.

The final car contest took place offline using 2 places, namely the Gelora Bung Tomo Circuit Surabaya for the competition venue, and the UPN Veterans East Java Building for the closing ceremony. This activity was also broadcast online through UPN TV live streaming and the Energy Saving Car Contest Youtube. After being declared successful in passing these two stages, the team was declared eligible to qualify and compete in the Final round. In the final round, the teams had to do a re-registration stage to ensure readiness to compete in the final round and load vehicles at the GBT circuit. Then on the day of the race, the vehicles from each team will be examined and assessed by the jury regarding the feasibility and suitability of the vehicle design with the regulations that have been set. After being declared qualified, the team and the vehicle are entitled to race. Each team is given a total of 5 opportunities to race with details of 8 laps and a maximum travel time of 25 minutes, if more vehicles are declared DNF or do not get points. The points that are assessed during the race are the value of the efficiency of using fuel/resources obtained by the vehicle during the race. The higher the efficiency value, the greater the chance for the team to win. The highest efficiency value in 5 race trials is used to determine team rankings.

“This year's Energy Efficient Car Contest has been a very valuable and enjoyable experience for me and the team. We've done everything we can to compete to the fullest. With a new vehicle and better preparation than the previous year, we are optimistic that we can talk a lot in the final round. The 2nd place that we have achieved today is a commensurate result for our efforts over the past 1 year starting from research, vehicle design, to being able to realize it by designing it into a complete vehicle.” said Putu Hendri Yudarsana as the manager of the paddock core team.

Improvements and improvements will continue to be made to maximize the potential that can be obtained from the vehicles that have been designed and realized. The future target is to get 1st place in the Urban Electric Motorcycle Category in the Energy Saving Car Contest in the coming years. Team Weimana also plans to expand its wings by preparing vehicles in other categories. Full support from the Universities is expected to be able to realize this desire.
