Collaborating with PT. Charoen Pokphand Indonesia-Denpasar, FVM Unud Introduce the Profession of Poultry Veterinarians

 

 

The peak day of the Field Trip on Saturday, September 17th, 2022 was lively. This activity started from 07.00 WITA until the afternoon at 17.00 WITA and was attended by 154 participants. The peak day of the 2022 field trip is in collaboration with PT. Charoen Pokphand Indonesia-Denpasar to cooperate as a provider of chicken coops which are a medium for professional introduction and are located in the Tabanan and Badung areas, Bali.

Peak Day activity Field Trip began with the gathering of participants at the Udayana University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH Unud) Sudirman campus. In this gathering, participants had breakfast and prayers as well as praying together so that the activities ran smoothly. The event then continued with the delivery of a few words from Lefira as the chief executive of the activity and I Dewa Putu Bagus Mertha Anom as the Chairperson of the Student Executive Board of the Udayana Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. In her presentation, Lefira emphasized that ethics and speech must be maintained during activities because this is a series of activities that are directly in contact with the general public, both cage owners and local residents.

 

 

“The participants in the Field Trip are lucky participants because this year the introduction of the profession is carried out directly. For that, please take this opportunity to ask questions and explore widely as possible in order to understand and get to know the veterinary profession more deeply," said I Dewa Putu Bagus Mertha Anom as Chairman of the Student Executive Board in his speech as well as releasing the Field Trip to their respective flock locations. -each.

 

 

In this activity, participants were divided into ten groups, each of which visited a chicken coop. There are four main locations for Field Trip 2022 chicken coops which are divided into two major areas, namely the pullet coop area and the broiler.chicken coop area is pullet located in Apuan-Tabanan and the broiler located in Abiansemal, Badung with two cages, the Cau Tua-Tabanan area with three cages, and the Selanbawak-Tabanan area with one cage.

the chicken coop pullet visited by the participants has an open house, while the broiler type close house. For approximately two hours, participants visited the cage and discovered many new things, including a demonstration of feeding and drinking, a vaccination demonstration for participants who got a pullet, and there was a necropsy demonstration for participants who got a broiler in the Cau Tua area. During the visit to the chicken coop, the 

participants were also explained about the biosecurity of the cage, how to raise livestock, the maintenance system which includes the timing of feeding and cleaning the cage and also explained the role of veterinarians in the realm of poultry, especially chickens.

 

 

Participants in this session were also free to ask questions about chickens and the chicken coop system to the owners of the cage and the Technical Service (TS) as representatives of PT. Charoen Pokphand Indonesia-Denpasar who accompanied at the cage. In addition to the owner of the cage and TS Pokphand, the participants were also accompanied by their brother and sister from FKH Unud and Drh. I Made Merdana MP as the Advisor Field Trip 2022 who also helped in sharing materials related to poultry and sharing experiences while being a Udayana Veterinary Medicine student.

 

 

After visiting the chicken coop and observing the role of veterinarians in the poultry sector, the 2022 Field Trip activity continued with rest, prayer, eating and games located at Sangeh Monkey Forest, Badung, Bali. Activities at the Sangeh Tourism Park continued with animal feeding to the monkeys that were there. The participants enthusiastically welcomed feeding by capturing the moment of feeding this corn with various reactions. Also, don't forget the committee and participants donated several sacks of corn to the local party as a thank you.

 

 

The activity continued with a tug of war game which resulted in group 3 as the winner. This tug of war game was very exciting with lots of support from the participants and the committee. Even at the end of the session the winners of the participants competed against the committee at the suggestion of one of the committees.

The game then continued with a sack relay competition which was no less exciting than the previous game. “field trip was very exciting and fun, especially in the tug of war game. For us as participants, we get a lot of new knowledge related to the poultry veterinary profession which also has a great opportunity,” said Wahyu Ginting as a participant from the Field Trip 2022

The activity was then closed with the release of balloons by Drh. I Made Merdana, MP whose Field Trip officially closed the 2022 The participants also received roses from the committee as a thank you for being willing to fully participate in this activity actively and enthusiastically.
