Higher Education Tri Dharma: FVM Unud Holds Workshop on Preparation Roadmaps of Research and Community Service

 

 

Last Friday (24/06), the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FVM), Udayana University together with partners, stakeholders, and the academic community held a Workshop on Preparation Roadmaps of Research and Community Service

 

"This activity aims to find a form of Research and Community Service FVM Unud that can answer global challenges in the veterinary world," said Drh. Tri Komala Sari as Chair of the Activity Committee when giving a speech.

 

According to Prof. Dr. Dr. I Nyoman Suartha M.Si as the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University, met online without leaving the meaning of the activities held. This workshop is expected to help FVM Udayana formulate what research should be done, so that it can solve problems that exist in the veterinary world.

 

The head of the Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) of Udayana University (Unud) was also present and opened the event. "This workshop is expected to refer to the university's research plan for 2021-2025 and later the results of the research and service carried out can meet the IKU (Key Performance Indicators) of both faculties and universities," said Prof. Dr. Dr. I Nyoman Suarsana has always been the Head of LPPM Unud.

 

After the event was officially opened, the activity was continued with the delivery of ideas or research topics and community service from speakers who of course had various backgrounds. The speakers who were also present were Professor Guy. H. Palmer as Senior Director of Global Health Washington State University USA, Khrisna Putera, B.SC, M.Sc as Head of New Line Business Vaccido Nusantara Animals, Drh. Arini Nurhandayani, MM as Factori Manager for Biological Products at Sanbio Laboratories, and representatives from the Bali Natural Resources Conservation Center.

 

 

The existence of good coordination between the FVM Unud and the invitees made this activity a collaborative agenda and a stepping stone to continue working together. The good things from this activity were not only felt by the committee or the invitees. The 6th semester students of FVM Unud who were present were able to feel the benefits.

 

"Participating in this activity can open my mind about research and community service that can be done because it is very interesting to see lecturers and presenters can share knowledge during discussion sessions," said Ni Komang Wahyu Centika Sari, a 6th semester student who was also present.

 

This is evidenced by the discussion sessions that are always active on each material. Dr. Dr. I Gusti Ayu Agung Suartini, MS, one of the lecturers of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Udayana University also participated in the discussion with the presenters from Vaccido Satwa Nusantara. Both of them discussed the technology that could or had been done by Vaccido in replacing the use of antibiotics.

 

Of course, the Workshop on Preparation Roadmap and Community Service does not stop here. Dr. Tri Komala Sari as the Chief of the Activity said that Forum Discussion Group (FGD) would soon be held in the Meeting Room of the Udayana Faculty of Veterinary

Medicine. The sustainability that will be carried out is of course expected to be a good start to continue to carry out what is the Higher Education Tri Dharma. Also, it is hoped that this can be the beginning of collaboration between the entire academic community of FVM Unud in producing useful research outputs.

 

"Hopefully large-scale research can be held involving lecturers and students of FVM Unud, so that data collection can be carried out. Later, the outputs issued can be published and benefit the community," said Drh. Romy Muhammad Dary Mufa, S.KH., as a Lecturer FVM Unud who attended the Workshop.
