Community Service: DWP Universitas Udayana Visits Orphanage in Destawan, Buleleng

Sawan — The Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of Universitas Udayana carried out a community service activity through a visit to the Destawan Orphanage, located in Sawan District, Buleleng Regency, on Sunday (October 26, 2025). The Unud DWP delegation was warmly welcomed by the orphanage’s head, Ketut Suterisna. The orphanage currently houses 35 children, consisting of 12 elementary school students, 4 junior high school students, 11 senior high school students, and 8 university students, supported by 5 caregivers.

During the visit, the Chairperson and members of DWP Unud had the opportunity to interact directly with the children and donated essential goods and financial assistance to support the orphanage’s needs.

The Chairperson of DWP Unud, Mrs. Putu Sari Wahyuni Sudarsana, stated that the purpose of the visit was to foster compassion and social awareness, as well as to support Mr. Ketut Suterisna’s noble mission as the founder of the orphanage, who has dedicated himself to caring for underprivileged and orphaned children.

“This visit is part of DWP Unud’s regular agenda, held in conjunction with the upcoming DWP Anniversary on December 7. We at DWP Unud plan to make this an annual program, visiting different orphanages across Bali each year,”
she said.

She further expressed hope that DWP Unud will continue to carry out similar community service initiatives in the coming years.
