Unud Holds a Young Entrepreneur Celebration to Encourage Downstreaming of Higher Education Research Results to Industry

Udayana University held a Young Entrepreneur Event Towards Superior and Independent IKM / UMKM, Friday (9/4/2021). The event was held semi-online, centered at the Widya Sabha Auditorium, Bukit Jimbaran Campus. The seminar participants came from academics, students, entrepreneurs, and the general public as many as 600 people attended online through the Webex Meeting and Youtube Udayana TV.

This Young Entrepreneur Festival is a collaboration between the Udayana University Business Incubator, the Student Entrepreneurship Unit, and the Udayana University SMART PROJECT. This event was held as an effort by Udayana University to support the Kedaireka program (Kedaulatan Indonesia and Reka Cipta) which is the contribution of universities to problems in the industrial world.

The event presented the Chairperson of the Bali Provincial Dekranasda Ni Putu Putri Suastini Koster as a guest speaker. In her presentation, Putri Suastini Koster said that to create strong and independent young entrepreneurs, mentoring from upstream to downstream is needed. "If we want to invite young entrepreneurs to be strong and independent, it must be guarded from upstream to downstream. Upstream must be given an understanding when they have to create, when they have to build a business, accompanied by intelligence, intelligence, tactics and strategy. When these IKM and UMKM have been established, they must take care of them and keep them prosperous. When they have to revitalize the problems that must be faced, now there are policies in it, there is love, "said Putri.

Through this Young Entrepreneur Festival, Udayana University hopes to encourage the downstreaming of research products and research innovations to the industry. This activity can also bridge Udayana University with industry, so that it is able to answer industry challenges. Responding to this, Putri Suastini Koster hopes that Udayana University will provide strength for young entrepreneurs to become tough and independent. He believes that innovations that come from higher education will be welcomed by young entrepreneurs. "Let us join hands to give strength, so that they become strong and independent young entrepreneurs," added Putri.

Udayana University is also committed to developing an entrepreneurial spirit in students. One of them is through the entrepreneurship program as one of the Independent Campus Learning Programs. Through the Business Incubator and Student Entrepreneurship Unit, Udayana University also carries out socialization activities, training, mentoring, and other creative activities to bring out young entrepreneurs from campus.

"In terms of entrepreneurship education at Udayana University, it has been directed to foster an entrepreneurial spirit and improve entrepreneurial skills in students. These efforts are made not only by providing entrepreneurship courses or providing books on entrepreneurship, but also by providing opportunities for students to become entrepreneurs, "said the Rector of Udayana University, Prof. A A. Raka Sudewi.

This Young Entrepreneur Gebyar also presented 30 tenants to show off their business products. The 30 tenants who attended came from the Business Incubator and Student Entrepreneurship Unit of Udayana University and some of them came from the Bali Province Dekranasda. The Young Entrepreneur Festival was also filled with two other speakers, including BPD Bali Non-Credit Business Director I Nyoman Sumanaya and the CEO of Balimall.id E-market place created by Balinese child Ni Wayan Sri Ariyani.
