THE GOVERNOR OF BALI EXPANDS THE 3RD SEMINAR OF BHAKTI DESA BECOME A CONTINUED STUDY

The Governor of Bali, I Made Mangku Pastika, welcomed the holding of the 3rd Seminar of Bhakti Desa, Friday (22/09). This was conveyed when giving direction at the 3rd Bhakti Desa seminar which was held by LPPM Udayana University.

"I welcome and support this seminar, as one of the efforts to unite the rationales and steps to face the dynamics of government, development and society"

The governor also said that in Bali there are two types of villages. Service Office Village and Customary Village or Pekraman Village, these two are not dulism but, duality. And this can not be united, because the authority is different. If the service office village runs the government while the customary village takes care, customs, culture and religion.

"This is a boon for Bali, because with the existence of customomary villages or pekraman and service office villages, Bali can survive the onslaught of globalization"

The Governor Pastika expected the results of this seminar to be a further study. So it can be a benchmark in designing the development of villages.

"When the seminar finished, it can continue to be a study, because it is also a good cost for the seminar" greeted cheers by the participants.

This seminar was attended by 2500 participants. The participants consist of all head of villages in Bali, customary village in Bali, NGOs, students and lecturers. The theme that was raised was Together with Udayana University Build Villages Through Empowerment Community for Welfare and Destruction of United Stated of Republic of Indonesia. (et)
