Udayana University Rector Inaugurates Vice Rectors, New Energy to Boost Institutional Performance Towards Becoming a State-Owned Legal Entity University (PTN BH

Denpasar – Udayana University held the Inauguration and Handover Ceremony of Vice Rectors on Monday, August 25, 2025, at the Nusantara Room, Agrokompleks Building, Sudirman Campus, Denpasar. The inauguration ceremony was attended by the University Senate, Inspectorate (SPI), Deans and Directors of Postgraduate Programs, Heads of Institutions, Bureau Chiefs, Directors of Business Units, Directors of Hospitals (RSPTN, RSGM, and RSH), Heads of UPT and USDI units, Head of Legal Affairs Office, Dharma Wanita, as well as Coordinators and Sub-Coordinators.

During the event, the Rector of Udayana University inaugurated four Vice Rectors, coupled with the handover of positions from outgoing to incoming officials. The newly inaugurated Vice Rectors are: Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Ir. I Nengah Sujaya, M.Agr.Sc., Ph.D, Vice Rector for General Affairs and Finance Prof. Agoes Ganesha Rahyuda, S.E., M.T., Ph.D, Vice Rector for Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Gusti Ngurah Alit Susanta Wirya, S.P., M.Agr, and Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Prof. Dr.Eng Ir. Made Sucipta, ST., MT., IPM. Prior to the inauguration, the new officials participated in the Mejaya-jaya ceremony at Pura Widya Maha Amrta, Sudirman Campus.

In his speech, Rector Prof. Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, S.T., Ph.D., emphasized that today’s inauguration is not merely a ceremonial event but a significant moment for the continuity of organizational operations at Udayana University. He stated that leadership transitions are institutional dynamics that bring new hopes, new energy, and a renewed commitment to continuously improve governance quality, academic services, and institutional performance. He noted that the challenges faced by higher education institutions are becoming increasingly complex, ranging from digital transformation, improving research quality and publications, to strengthening graduate competitiveness at national and global levels.

The Rector underlined that Udayana University is preparing for a transformation from a State University with Public Service Agency status (PTN-BLU) to a State University with Legal Entity status (PTN-BH). Amid the evolving national policies on higher education, the Rector called on all parties to innovate across various fields.

This innovation is a step toward strengthening Udayana University’s role in national development to create a tangible impact on society. Therefore, the Rector hopes that the entire academic community will synergize, collaborate, and cultivate a work culture that is transparent, professional, and quality-oriented.

The Rector also expressed hope that this inauguration marks the beginning of a collective effort to strengthen Udayana University as a center of excellence in higher education, research, and community service, to realize a globally impactful and competitive campus.

“Congratulations on assuming your new responsibilities. Carry out your duties and responsibilities with commitment, discipline, integrity, dedication, and loyalty to advance our beloved university, Udayana University,” the Rector said to the newly appointed officials.

In his remarks, the Rector also expressed appreciation to the outgoing officials for their dedication, hard work, and tangible contributions to the beloved university. Their intellectual and practical contributions will always be needed for the progress of Udayana University, especially during the transition to becoming a Legal Entity State University.
