Rector of Udayana University Sends Off 1,200 Graduates at the 169th Graduation Ceremony, Alumni Urged to Apply Their Knowledge Effectively for the Advancement of Society, the Nation, and the State
Jimbaran – Udayana University (Unud) held its 169th Graduation Ceremony at the Widya Sabha Auditorium, Jimbaran Campus, on Saturday (August 23, 2025). A total of 1,200 graduates were conferred their degrees during the ceremony, bringing the total number of Udayana University alumni to 130,919.
Based on academic level, the graduates comprised 37 Doctoral graduates, 142 Master's, 64 Specialist, 76 Professional, 865 Bachelor's, and 16 Diploma graduates. Among them, 824 graduates earned the distinction of With Honors or Cum Laude.
Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of Udayana University, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gede Rai Maya Temaja, MP., IPU, in his report, stated that this batch of graduates was dominated by female students, totaling 828, compared to 372 male graduates. In terms of academic performance, female graduates had a slightly higher average GPA of 3.81, while male graduates averaged 3.79. The average study duration was 7.45 semesters for females and 7.70 semesters for males. On this occasion, the Vice Rector also extended his gratitude to the families of the graduates for entrusting Udayana University as the place for their higher education journey.
“We congratulate all graduates. We hope that through the education you have undertaken, you not only master knowledge, but also live wisely, prioritizing good character in your careers and in society. Always show dedication, innovation, and collaboration in your professional journey,” said Prof. Rai.
To improve and further develop the university’s education system including facilities, teaching and learning models, processes, and services he also encouraged the graduates to actively participate in the university’s online tracer study, which gathers valuable feedback from alumni.
Meanwhile, Rector of Udayana University, Prof. Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, ST., Ph.D., in his address, congratulated the graduates who had successfully completed their studies.
“Your success is the result of your hard work. I am confident that in the process of completing your studies, you faced many challenges and obstacles. Therefore, I express my deepest pride and appreciation for your achievements and persistence in overcoming those hurdles throughout your educational journey,” stated the Rector.
The Rector further conveyed that graduation is the final academic milestone in a particular level of higher education. It marks the official completion of a degree and represents the university’s commitment to the Indonesian nation, particularly in preparing high-quality, competitive human resources in today’s global era. The Rector reminded all graduates that this ceremony and the academic title they earned are not the end, but rather the beginning of new challenges in life.
As alumni, they are representatives of Udayana University in society. Their actions and conduct will reflect on the university. Therefore, alumni are expected to uphold the good name of their alma mater by always thinking, speaking, and acting with integrity. The Rector also urged graduates to apply their knowledge in their respective professions with responsibility and excellence. He expressed hope that the knowledge gained would be implemented effectively for the advancement of society, the nation, and the state.
I Made Winata Krisna, representing the graduates, shared his impressions during the ceremony. He stated that this day was a special moment as it marked the culmination of a long journey. “Graduation is a moment where all our struggles turn into gratitude, all exhaustion turns into pride, and every failure becomes a story we will carry forward. This graduation marks the beginning of a longer journey where we will be challenged not only to work, but to continue living and growing into better individuals.”
