Udayana University, the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia, and IKAYANA Sign a Memorandum of Understanding on Integrated Waste Management to Support the Tourism Sector
Buleleng, June 22, 2025 – Udayana University, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia and IKAYANA (Alumni Association of Udayana University), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Integrated Waste Management to Support the Tourism Sector. This event was part of the Forum on Strengthening Amenities and Accessibility in Support of the 3B Tourism Package (Banyuwangi, North Bali, and West Bali), held in Buleleng on Sunday, June 22, 2025.
The MoU signing was attended by representatives from each institution, including the Vice-Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information of Udayana University, Prof. I Putu Gede Adiatmika, representing the Rector of Udayana University.
This collaboration covers several strategic areas, including: the formulation of integrated waste management policies to support the tourism sector; research and development activities in waste management; capacity building for human resources in integrated waste management; facilitation of infrastructure and facilities to support waste management at tourism destinations; and assistance in integrated waste management at various tourist sites.
Through this inter-agency collaboration, Udayana University hopes to make a tangible and sustainable contribution to addressing waste management issues, particularly in tourism areas. This effort is also part of a shared commitment to creating sustainable and environmentally friendly tourism.
