The President Director of Udayana University Hospital is Now Held by Prof. Anak Agung Wiradewi Lestari, Replacing Prof. Dewa Putu Gde Purwa Samatra who has Retired

Jimbaran – Held in the Meeting Room of the Udayana University Hospital Building (RS Unud), a handover ceremony was held for the President Director of Udayana University Hospital Prof. Dr. dr. Dewa Putu Gde Purwa Samatra, Sp.S(K) to Prof. Dr. dr. Anak Agung Wiradewi Lestari, S.Ked.,Sp.PK(K), Tuesday (6/5/2025). The handover ceremony was attended by the Rector, Vice Rectors, Faculty Leaders, Unit Leaders within Unud, the academic community of the Faculty of Medicine, Unud and the ranks of Unud Hospital and other invitees.

Rector of Unud Prof. Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, ST.,Ph.D in his speech said that Udayana University Hospital is a strategic part of Udayana University which not only functions as a center for health services, but also as a vehicle for education and research. Since it began operating in 2013, RS Unud has made an extraordinary journey, from a Type C Hospital to now a Type B Hospital that continues to improve and develop.

"Today, we are marking an important chapter in the history of the management of RS Unud, with the inauguration of the new President Director, along with the Deputy Directors who will lead this institution in the 2025–2029 period," said the Rector.

He believes that under the new leadership and staff, Unud Hospital will be able to answer the challenges of the times, especially in realizing superior health services, competitive medical education, and impactful research.

On that occasion, the Rector also expressed his deepest appreciation and gratitude to Prof. Dewa Putu Gde Purwa Samatra and the previous Directors, for their dedication and leadership during their tenure. Their dedication has laid an important foundation for the development of Unud Hospital so far. 

"To the new Director and Vice Director, we place great hopes that they will always uphold integrity, establish synergy with all stakeholders, and prioritize innovation in responding to various challenges, starting from improving service quality, fulfilling human resources, to making Unud Hospital a complete teaching hospital," said the Rector of Unud.

Meanwhile, the new President Director of Unud Hospital, Prof. Anak Agung Wiradewi Lestari, in a separate interview regarding the work program and development plan for Unud Hospital in the future, said that previously his party had been assigned to be the Unud Hospital Study Team so that they had studied the problems in the operational system. The steps that will be taken are to renew the hospital status so that it can serve more patients, then improve infrastructure, create a business plan and increase cooperation with the Badung Regency Government in this case targeting South Badung. After physical improvements, service arrangements will also be carried out so that Unud Hospital will become a government hospital trusted by the public.
