President of Zanzibar to Unud "Opportunity to give Public Lecture"

Jimbaran - Friday, August 3, 2018, Udayana University received a visit from the President of Zanzibar, Dr. Ali Mohamed Shein at the Unud Jimbaran Campus Rector Building. The President of Zanzibar and the delegation were welcomed by the Chancellor of the Udayana University, Prof. Dr. dr. A A. Raka Sudewi, Sp. S (K) together with all leaders in Udayana University. During his visit, the President of Zanzibar also had the opportunity to give a Public Lecture in front of the academic community of Udayana University.

Starting the public lecture, the President of Zanzibar explained the history of the development of Zanzibar from the colonial period until it developed as it is today. One of the advantages possessed is the tourism sector and has similarities with Bali. Besides that Zanzibar is also famous for the production of organic spices which make it known in various worlds. With a population of only 1.5 million, Zanzibar is currently actively developing, especially in the tourism sector. In front of the Unud academic community, it was conveyed that judging from the population of Bali, which is currently around 4 million people, it can make Bali Province grow rapidly, especially in the field of tourism.

On the sidelines of the general lecture, several times the President of Zanzibar sent a message to students to be diligent and serious in participating in education until later making it a proud person. Through this visit, the President of Zanzibar also opened up opportunities for cooperation with Udayana University through various forms of educational cooperation that could be initiated including student exchange, internship, visiting, and other collaborations that would allow collaboration with the University in Zanzibar

Chancellor of Unud, Prof. A.A Raka Sudewi conveyed that President Zanzibar's visit to Udayana University was an honor, considering this was a very rare opportunity. The Chancellor hopes that this will be the beginning of a partnership that will be followed up by the Vice Chancellor for Planning, Cooperation and Information, considering that until now Unud does not have cooperation with universities in the African region.
