UNUD SIGNS EXTENSION OF MOU WITH GEOSPASIAL INFORMATION BOARD

Badung - Wednesday (09/05/2018) Udayana University Rector signed an extension of Memorandum of Understanding with the Head of Geospatial Information Agency (BIG) at Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel, Kuta, followed by the signing of Cooperation Agreement between PPIDS Chair Unud and BIG. The signing ceremony was held simultaneously with Rakor and Bimtek activities Strengthening National Geospatial Information Network of Java-Bali-Nusra Regional.

Rector of Unud, Prof. Dr. dr. A A. Raka Sudewi, Sp.S (K) in his speech welcomed the involvement of PPIDS Unud in Rakor and Bimtek Strengthening National Geospatial Information Network of Java-Bali-Nusra Region because it can contribute in the development of network nodes in Bali, NTB and NTT both help in hardware, software and human resources.

The Rector also gave appreciation to the Head of Geospatial Information Agency for having been given the trust by BIG to form PPIDS at Udayana University and also other universities in Indonesia by providing real support in the form of hardware and software grant for Geospatial Information Network in the form of PPIDS Unud Network Node.

Furthermore, the Rector conveyed PPIDS Unud was born on September 30, 2014 in accordance with the MOU between BIG and Udayana University. PPIDS Unud has tasks such as: Organizing and building network nodes in PPIDS Unud with server assisted by BIG; Assisting the Implementation and Development of Spatial Data Network Infrastructure Nodes in the regions; As a BIG extension and Provide consultation and help the region in preparing the Basic Map and Thematic Map.

The Rector hopes that what is mandated as BIG's extension can be done well by Udayana University, it is necessary for all stakeholders and stakeholders to support PPIDS Unud can contribute in the construction of Local Geospatial Information Network Node, especially for Bali, NTB and NTT. The support of the Governor of Bali is needed, so that PPIDS Unud can contribute in the development of Geospatial Information for Bali.

Currently Udayana University plans and is processing the establishment of D3 / Vocational programs in the field of Geomatics and Disaster, which was initiated by the managers of PPIDS Unud. This new program will be expected to answer the challenge in producing skilled manpower in the field of geospatial information.

Based on the tupoksi PPIDS, the future role of universities is very strategic to contribute in welcoming and realizing the One Map Policy, by assisting the Provincial Government, as well as the Regency / City in preparing and enriching the content for the geospatial information network node in Bali Province and Nusra . In accordance with the mandate of the existing laws and regulations, together with the Governor of Bali and all the existing Regional Apparatus Organizations, PPIDS Unud is ready to support the development of network nodes in the areas of Bali, NTB and NTT.
