Indonesia International Education & Training Expo (IIETE) to Be Held in November 2025
Jimbaran – The Rector of Udayana University, Prof. Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, S.T., Ph.D., and the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gede Rai Maya Temaja, M.P., IPU, attended the Webinar on the Socialization of the Indonesia International Education & Training Expo (IIETE), held online on Thursday (June 26, 2025).
The webinar was part of a series of socialization activities leading up to the IIETE event, which will be held in two major cities: Surabaya from November 20–22, 2025, and Jakarta from February 5–8, 2026. The event is fully supported by the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemdiktisaintek RI), as well as the Indonesian Rectors Forum (FRI).
The event began with a speech by the organizing committee chairman, Sukur Saka, President Director of PT. Wahyu Promo Citra. In his remarks, he noted that IIETE has been held 34 times, with the most recent event taking place in Jakarta. He emphasized a special feature for the upcoming event — it will include cooperation agreements between universities, moving beyond the traditional exhibition format.
IIETE itself is an annual education exhibition that has been held since 1992 and is widely recognized as a major event in Indonesia’s national education landscape. It has played a significant role historically, including the launch of the 9-Year Compulsory Education Program by President Soeharto in 1995 and hosting the Indonesian Rectors Forum Conference in 2017, which was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo.
Looking forward, IIETE is expected to promote University-to-University cooperation between Indonesian higher education institutions and foreign universities.
The Chair of the Indonesian Rectors Forum, represented at the event by Dr. Martadi, M.Sn, expressed hope that the event would run successfully, facilitating the sharing of best practices, fostering collaboration among universities, and enhancing branding related to differentiation and excellence to raise broader public awareness.
