FK Unud Introduces 746 New Students to Campus Life

 

The Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University (FK Unud) held an Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) in 2022 at the faculty level which was centered in the FK Building Area, Denpasar Campus (10/8/2022). This year's PKKMB took the theme "Synergizing to Create an Excellent and Innovative Faculty of Medicine". This activity was opened directly by the Dean of FK Unud and was also attended by the Deputy Deans, Coordinators of Undergraduate Study Programs, Administrative Coordinators, and Sub-coordinators at the Faculty of Medicine, Unud.

 

Chairman of the Executive Committee dr. I Gusti Made Gde Surya Chandra Trapika, S.Ked., M.Sc., Ph.D in his report said that this year's PKKMB was attended by 779 students consisting of 746 new students and 33 old students. The PKKMB will last for two days (10-11 August 2022). This PKKMB is an effort to introduce new students to campus activities so that it will be easier for them to adapt to Udayana University campus life.

 

Starting this year, the campus introduction activity for new students is only called PKKMB where the committee is a collaboration between lecturers, staff, and students in accordance with the PKKMB Guide Book from the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research and Technology of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology, which in its technical implementation is also a PKKMB Guidebook. Udayana University 2022. The topics presented in this year's PKKMB include knowing and understanding academic guidelines, the use of facilities to support education, campus life as students, as well as prevention of sexual violence and bullying which are filled by the leadership of the Faculty of Medicine, not forgetting the topic of activities student affairs and organizations filled by BEM FK Unud.

 

The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, Dr. dr. Komang Januartha Putra Pinatih, M.Kes, in his speech said that PKKMB is a series of activities to introduce campus life for new students to provide introductions to students in order to adapt to a variety of academic and student activities that can increase the potential and creativity and innovation of students. PKKMB is also expected to provide an understanding of the status as a student.

"Today, everything has been upgraded from student to student status, which means that you are expected to have higher intellectual and emotional intelligence than a student. So today you will be given an understanding of life as a student." he explained.

 

In closing, don't forget Dr. Januartha also congratulated all new students for their success in continuing their education at the Faculty of Medicine, Unud.

PKKMB must be followed by every new student in order to have early readiness to adapt in the learning process and a decision has been made that every student can attend graduation if he has passed the PKKMB activity.

 

The first day of the activity was filled with material delivery by the Vice Deans and the Coordinators of their respective Study Programs. While the second day was filled with the introduction of student organizations and student activities.
