Delegation from Jiangxi Province, China Visits Udayana University to Strengthen Educational and Cultural Cooperation

Denpasar – Udayana University welcomed a delegation from Jiangxi Province, China, in an official visit held at the Tourism Confucius Institute (TCI) room in the Agrokompleks Building, Sudirman Campus, Denpasar, on Monday (June 2, 2025).

The visit began at the Tourism Confucius Institute Hall, where the delegation was greeted with cultural performances by Udayana University students. They performed a traditional Balinese welcome dance and the popular Indonesian song "Bengawan Solo," also sung in Mandarin, captivating the guests and strengthening the spirit of international friendship.

Next, the guests visited a photo exhibition titled “The Journey of Indonesian Students to Jiangxi,” showcasing inspiring experiences of Indonesian students during their studies and cultural visits to Jiangxi Province.

The event continued in the TCI meeting room with a discussion with Udayana University leadership, represented by the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information, Prof. I Putu Gede Adiatmika. In his remarks, the Vice Rector expressed appreciation for the Jiangxi delegation’s visit and emphasized the importance of international collaboration in education, culture, and research. He stated that Udayana University remains open to various forms of strategic cooperation that can strengthen institutional capacity and create opportunities for students and lecturers on the global stage.

The event proceeded with a report on the development of the Tourism Confucius Institute by Mr. Lu Kemin, the TCI Director from the Chinese side. In his presentation, he highlighted the institution’s active role in enhancing cultural and language exchange between Indonesia and China.

As part of the event, Ms. Lu Xiaoqing, Minister of the Publicity Department of the Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee, delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of cooperation between educational institutions in promoting cross-cultural understanding and joint development.

A significant moment in the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Udayana University, represented by the Faculty of Engineering, and Nanchang University concerning the establishment of the “Tian Gong Experimental Class” under the Belt and Road Initiative Joint Training Program for Engineering Talents. This agreement is expected to open broader opportunities for collaboration in engineering and technology.

The visit concluded with an exchange of souvenirs and a group photo.

This visit marks an important milestone in strengthening ties between Jiangxi Province and Udayana University, while also enhancing the role of education in cultural diplomacy and regional development.
