Udayana University Signs Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation Agreement with the Nuclear Energy Supervisory Agency (BAPETEN)

In the context of developing cooperation at Udayana University, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, especially the Physics Study Program, initiated a collaboration with BAPETEN which is the Indonesian Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency. The collaboration was formalized in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Rector of Udayana University and Plt. Head of Bapeten, and also the signing of the Cooperation Agreement between the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences and the Main Secretary of the Nuclear Energy Supervisory Agency, which was held on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at the Postgraduate Building, Denpasar on Wednesday, June 15, 2022.

Present in this activity the Rector of Udayana University accompanied by the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation and Information, Dean of FMIPA, Plt. Head of BAPETEN, Main Secretary of the Nuclear Energy Supervisory Agency and BAPETEN staff. The collaboration that will be followed up by the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, especially the Physics Study Program, includes the Study, Development, and Application of Science and Technology in the Field of Nuclear Supervision.

In his remarks, the Rector of Udayana University Prof. Dr. Ir I Nyoman Gde Antara, M. Eng, IPU, said that cooperation in the supervision of the nuclear power sector which at this early stage involved the Study Program at FMIPA, later in addition to the Fission Study Program, could also be followed up by the Program Another study is PS Biology and Chemistry. Meanwhile, the process also requires various other work units such as in the fields of English law, environment and so on. “We start from what is possible, and we support BAPETEN to work together. We also encourage BAPETEN to carry out this supervision," he said.

Meanwhile, Plt. Head of BAPETEN Ir. Sugeng Sumbarjo, M. Eng said that Udayana University has the potential to support surveillance, especially in the health sector. Starting from the provision of human resources and medical physics for hospitals. "Through this collaboration, we can also exchange human resources, including through expert exchanges at Udayana and BAPETEN. There are many things that we can follow up from this collaboration," he explained. He also hopes that this collaboration can be even closer and can increase the need for study programs, which currently do not have medical physics and are needed in hospitals. (Med)
