MAPALA UMKM Udayana University Released 11 Students for Expedition to Flores

The Nature Lover Student Unit Wanaprastha Dharma Udayana University releases 11 Athlete Students to participate in Udayana Scientific Excursion activities. The release was held at the EDC Parking Building Sudirman Campus, Udayana University on Saturday (07/07/2019). The Udayana Scientific Excursion event will be held in Nagekeo, Flores, East Nusa Tenggara on July 12 until July 21, 2019. The activity is divided into 2 divisions, namely mountering and cultural studies, of these 11 athletes, 6 are placed for cultural studies while 5 people for mountaineering.
 
According to Ni Made Yuni Sugiantari, as the Chair of the Committee said the reason for choosing Nagekeo as an expedition destination was because MAPALA of Udayana University found an interesting research object in the villages around Mount Ebulobo, the traditional boxing ritual. Yuni also added that this cultural study is to find out more about traditional boxing rituals that will be carried out by examining the meaning of the series of rituals and expecting results in the form of a documentary video about this ritual and a journal about the values ​​and meaning of this ritual.
 
Deputy Rector III for Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Made Sudarma, M.S., said that activities like this need to be improved in the future in view of Indonesia's extraordinary natural beauty. "In the future it is hoped that through this activity journals and great learning can be generated for Udayana University students," he said. (oca)
