CPHI FK UNUD HELD WORKSHOP TO PREVENT & RESOLVE STUNTING

Workshop on equalizing the perceptions of universities in stunting prevention and control program in Gianyar Regency, which was held in  Dr. A. A. Made Djelantik, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University on Thursday (06/06/19) until Friday (06/21/19). This activity was organized by the Center for Public Health Innovation in collaboration with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia and Gianyar Regency Government. This activity was attended by academic community not only from Udayana University, but also STIKES, POLTEKES, and UPT Gianyar.

This activity was opened by the Chancellor of Udayana University Prof. Dr. dr. A A. Raka Sudewi, Sp., S (K), said, "Workshop on equalizing perception and prevention of stunting in Gianyar Regency, Bali Province in the context of synergy of universities, especially Udayana University to support the reduction of stunting in Gianyar because stunting is a local, national, and global problem. "She also hopes that" through this workshop there will be a common perception from all parties involved and programs that have been launched by the village can be carried out well so that the status of stunting in Gianyar  can decrease significantly. "

Dr. Pande Putu Januraga MD, DrPH as chairman of the committee and head of the Center for Public Health Innovation explained about the problem of stunting in Gianyar even categorize as the good economic area, requiring only 20% yet it has become a problem.

He also added, "Unud's program focus is on how to prevent stunting. The purpose of this activity is to equate the perceptions about stunting. Udayana University has a capacity as a companion because it has many experts at Udayana University to formulate strategies to reduce stunting. But it still does not replace the role of the regional government to accompany and evaluate whether the activities in Gianyar are successful or not. "(Harum, Ben)
