Jimbaran - As a Form of the PT Asuh Program, Thursday (11/10/2018) Udayana University signed an MoU with Four PT Asuhan namely Mahasaraswati Mataram University, University of West Nusa Tenggara, STKIP Yapis Dompu and IKIP Muhammadiyah Maumere in Ruang Bangsa Rectorate Building Bukit Jimbaran Campus. The event was attended by the Chancellor of Unud, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Deputy Chancellor for Planning, Cooperation and Information, Chancellor and representatives of Unud Higher Education Institutions, Monitoring Team from the Directorate General of Belmawa, Head of LP3M and Taskforce.

As an institution with an A accreditation rating, Udayana University has an obligation to develop other universities in an effort to improve the quality of higher education in Indonesia. Until now Unud has been trusted twice by the Belmawa Directorate as a university that receives grants from foster care towards superior universities. In 2017, Unud has taken care of 5 PTS with 20 study programs spread across Bali, NTB, and NTT Provinces and in 2018, Unud took care of 25 study programs from 4 PTS namely Mahasaraswati University and West Nusa Tenggara University in Mataram NTB, STKIP Yapis in Dompu NTB, and the Muhammadiyah IKIP in Maumere NTT.

Chancellor of Unud, Prof. A.A Raka Sudewi in his speech expressed his appreciation to Kemenristekdikti for the trust given to Udayana University as one of the executors of the PT Asuh Program through LP3M Unud. To support the program Unud has also prepared matching funds amounting to 18.8% of the total grant. The Chancellor also welcomed the realization of the signing of the MoU between Unud and these 4 Fostering Universities in an effort to advance the quality of higher education. The Chancellor hopes that through this program Udayana University can participate in improving the quality of education in Indonesia.

Representing the Chancellor of PT Asuh, the University of NTB Chancellor conveyed the benefits of participating in PT Asuh were (1) the existence of guidance and assistance to increase human resource capacity; (2) the improvement of study program accreditation documents is also improving institutional documents for the implementation of accreditation and (3) the strengthening of quality assurance institutions to the level of study programs. Therefore, the guidance of Udayana University is not enough to be given until the completion of the PT Asuh program. For this reason, the four PT Asuh expects a broader collaboration in the field of Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi through the signing of the MOU. After the MOU was signed, the event continued with Technical Guidance and Monitoring and Evaluation of the Fostering Program Towards a Superior Study Program 2018. (HM)
