Four Permanent Professors were inaugurated by the Chancellor of Unud

Jimbaran - Udayana University held a Inaugural Professor inauguration Ceremony, Saturday (9/22/2018) at the Widya Sabha Auditorium Building, Bukit Jimbaran Campus. Professor is the highest functional position for lecturers obtained if they meet the requirements in accordance with what has been stated in the legislation, one of which is to have scientific papers published in international reputable journals and meet the minimum cum grade requirements as determined.

The four professors confirmed were Prof. Dr. Ir. Rindang Dwiyani, MS as a Permanent Professor in Tissue and Horticulture Culture at the Faculty of Agriculture with the title Scientific Oration "Prospects and Entrepreneurial Obstacles of Plant Propagation Through Tissue Culture", Prof. Dr. dr. Made Wardhana, Sp. KK (K), FINSDV, SAADV as a Permanent Professor in the Field of Dermatology and Venereology at the Faculty of Medicine with the Title Scientific Oration of "Psychoneuroimmunology in the Field of Dermatology", Prof. Dr. dr. I Made Jawi, M.Kes as a Permanent Professor in the Field of Pharmacology at the Faculty of Medicine with the Title of the Scientific Oration of "Purple Circles as Medicinal Plants for Families Towards Healthy Families in the Future" and Prof. Dr. drh. I Wayan Suardana, M.Sc as a Permanent Professor in Veterinary Public Health at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine with the Title Scientific Oration "Escherichia Coli o157: H7 New Zoonotic Threats in the Era of Disruption (Study of Epidemiology, Genetics and Biotechnology)".

Chancellor of Unud, Prof. A.A Raka Sudewi in his speech said that Udayana University as one of the Higher Education Institutions that has been accredited A, the number of professors ratio has an important role in maintaining it. This year, up to September 2018, eight professors have entered the retirement period. With the inauguration of four professors this time, the number of professors owned by Unud to date is 147 people and the total number of lecturers is 1,465 people so that the ratio of the number of professors to lecturers is 10.3%.

This amount is expected to increase every year after various efforts have been made, one of which is by encouraging lecturers who have doctoral degrees to increase their level to professors. Besides that, a socialization program for acceleration of professors was also carried out by presenting resource persons from the Ministry.

The Chancellor hopes that this achievement that has been achieved by the Professors does not only stop here because behind this position contains great meaning and demands greater responsibility in carrying out the duties and obligations as a Professor and able to provide solutions to problems that arise in the community through the knowledge possessed so that it is useful for the advancement of the nation and state. The professors who were inaugurated were expected to also be able to motivate junior and colleague to achieve this highest degree so as to increase the rank of Udayana University. (HM)
