Increase Number of Research, LPPM Unud Held USAID Program Socialization and EPI-UNET

Denpasar (18/04/2017) - Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) Unud held "Socialization Programs Research USAID (United States Agency for International Development) and EPI-UNET (Eastern Part of Indonesia University Network)" in the Postgraduate Building Sudirman Campus Udayana University, Denpasar. This event was attended by 180 people in the environment of research professor at Udayana University. The speaker in this socialization was the Project Management Specialist USAID Indonesia, Jalu Noor Cahyanto and EPI-UNET Coordinator, Prof. Dr. Arta Ketut Buda, ST., M.Si who is also the Deputy Rector IV of ITS.

Chairman LPPM Udayana University, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Nyoman Gde Antara, M.Eng in his report that this activity was aimed to increase research funding sourced from the International level cooperation. Researchers who attended this event were already S3 or Associate Professor and Professors because USAID programs and EPI-UNET require the researcher who has reached a certain level. These activities become a benchmark in facilitating research in Udayana University, and will continue to be implemented to support the studies of Udayana in internationalization efforts and publications as well as improve the performance of institutions. Unud fore expected to be the Host research so that it can conduct joint publications and opportunities for investigators Unud joined researchers from other universities to increase the number of publications. This year Unud planned to fund five research groups through the EPI-UNET, this is also the first year Unud joined the EPI-UNET. If for the next it receives good response, research funding for next year will be improved. Through this socialization was also expected to get information about programs that are owned by USAID in addition to EPI-UNET.

Deputy Rector IV of Udayana University, Prof. Drs. I Made Suastra, Ph.D, in his speech expressed his appreciation for the initiative of organizing LPPM socialization is very important for research at Udayana University. In this socialization, resource persons expected to give enlightenment to the research team at Udayana University in order to develop itself in the arena of local, national and international levels. Prof. Made Suastra also said USAID has not so familiar to Unud because many activities implemented by USAID. While EPI-UNET is Unud's commitment in the field of research with the University of East Indonesia group that led by ITS. At the beginning of the declaration of EPI-UNET, ITS hopes Unud may become the hub of research in Eastern Indonesia. Prof. Made Suastra also hopes that through the EPI-UNET can be formed a consortium to raise funds nationally and internationally in the field of research and to produce innovative research, output publications, and through USAID, the Unud's researchers expected to take international part level to improve the position of Unud in national or international level.
