Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University officially established on October 1, 1965 by Decree PTIP No. 248/Sek/P.U/1965, dated October 20, 1965, which consists of two departments, namely the Department of Architecture and Fine Arts Department. As the background of the establishment of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Udayana, is in the context of conservation, the development of the culture of Bali in particular and national culture in general, especially in the face of development and the development of tourism.

Physically development was much concerned fields kearsitekturan and kesenirupaan, which is a potential that has its own value in the cultural life of Bali, in addition to accommodating the aspirations of the public, especially prospective students from Bali who wish to continue education in the arts and technology in higher education. For this purpose the culture in Bali especially among Udayana University paved the way for establishing the relevant higher education is higher education in architecture and fine arts.

Then in 1965, formed a committee called the Preparatory Committee for the Faculty of Engineering, University of Udayana with the following composition:

This committee succeeded in establishing the Faculty of Engineering, University of Udayana with two departments, namely the Department of Architecture and Fine Arts Department. As the first Chairman: Prof. Dr. Ida Bagus Mantra as acting dean and Drs. Soedarminto as secretary to the dean. Thus, in 1965 the Faculty of Engineering is the fifth faculty at the University of Udayana, and the Ministerial Decree No. 248 of 1965 PTIP commencing on October 1, 1965 officially and legally become the Faculty of Engineering, University of Udayana.

In line with existing development, Faculty of Engineering, University of Udayana continue to improve and develop themselves. To anticipate technological developments and the demands of society for power engineering.

In 1968 the Faculty of Engineering opened a new department, namely the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Udayana thus officially has three departments namely the Department of Architecture, Fine Arts Department and the Department of Civil Engineering.

The next development was the implementation of PP # 5 in 1980 and in 1983 the Faculty of Engineering, University of Udayana set only consists of two departments, namely the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering Department. While the Fine Arts Department became independent study program of Art and Design (PSSRD).

Udayana University Faculty of Engineering majors who managed to complete two new courses namely Studies Program Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering Program in 1984, by Rector Decree No. 612 / PT.17 / 1:01:02 / 1984. Having fought for 4 ( four) years, then in 1988 dropped Decree of the Director General of Higher Education No. 64 and 65 / DIKTI / KEP / 1988 on the official status of Program Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering Program.

Based on the decision of the Director General of Higher Education Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number: 231 / DIKTI / KEP / 1996, dated July 11, 1996, on a course in the graduate program at the University of Udayana, the Faculty of Engineering has four courses, namely: 1) Architectural Studies Program, 2) Civil Engineering Program, 3) Study program Mechanical Engineering, and 4) Electrical Engineering Program

In order to provide an opportunity for the public to obtain a higher education services, the Faculty of Engineering opened the Program Extension with legal basis Decree of the Director General of Higher Education Ministry of Education and Culture No 555 / DIKTI / KEP / 1997. For Extension Program, Faculty of Engineering has four courses, namely:

  1. Architectural Studies Program
  2. Civil Engineering Program
  3. Mechanical Engineering Study Program
  4. Electrical Engineering Program

With the publication of the Director General of Higher Education Ministry of National Education Republic of Indonesia Number: 28 / DIKTI / KEP / 2002 on the Implementation of the Regular and Non-Regular Programme in State College, the Program Extension adjusted Non-Regular Programme.

To meet the needs of medium-sized professional manpower in the field of engineering, the Faculty of Engineering opened the first Diploma Program and Diploma II, pursuant to Decree No. Rector of Udayana University 165 / J14 / PR.01.10 / 2002. Diploma programs are opened is for the Department of Architecture, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

In line with efforts to improve the Human Resources (HR), Udayana University deems it necessary to open the Graduate Program (S2). Under License from the Directorate General of Higher Education Ministry of National Education No. 485 / D / T / 2003, dated March 13, 2003, in the academic year 2003/2004 opened the Master of Civil tenik. Academic administration for the Master Program is under the Graduate Program Udayana University.

  4. Increase cooperation with other institutions both at home and abroad.
