Udayana University Collaborates with Universiti Malaysia Perlis, Education and Research Collaboration

Denpasar - The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Udayana University (Unud) and Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), Malaysia took place at the Postgraduate Building, Sudirman Campus, Denpasar, Monday (5/26/2025). The signing ceremony was attended by the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation and Information Prof. Dr. dr. I Putu Gede Adiatmika, M.Kes representing the Rector of Unud, Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Engineering along with the coordinators of study programs and UPIKS, Coordinator of KUI, and Coordinator of Cooperation and Public Relations of Unud along with the Sub-coordinator of Foreign Cooperation. Meanwhile, from UniMAP those present were Vice Chancellor Prof. Dato Ts Dr. Zaliman Sauli and the UniMAP delegation.

Vice Rector Prof. I Putu Gede Adiatmika in his speech introduced a brief profile of Udayana University which has three campus locations and faculties. Furthermore, it was conveyed that Unud also has a Faculty of Engineering which is in accordance with the fields in UniMAP. So in the future, it is hoped that this MoU can be followed up through collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University, both in terms of education and joint research. The Vice Rector also hopes that this collaboration can strengthen the relationship between the two institutions.

"Hopefully this collaboration can run according to our shared expectations," said the Vice Rector.

Meanwhile, Vice Chancellor of UniMAP Prof. Dato Ts Dr. Zaliman Sauli expressed his gratitude for the acceptance from Udayana University. Furthermore, it was conveyed that UniMAP is a university located in the northern tip of Malaysia and is on the border with Thailand. UniMAP itself is a technical university with around 13,300 students. It has 5 technical faculties and 1 faculty of international business and communication.

Like Unud, UniMAP also has three campuses, all of which are in Perlis. UniMAP has also opened a learning center whose campus is in Kuala Lumpur where there are around 50 students from Indonesia studying there. In the future, they hope that there will be students from Bali. At UniMAP, there are already levels from S1, S2 to S3 and they offer a flexible S3 program for the Unud community, namely conducting research education in their place of origin which has been implemented with universities in Medan and Yogyakarta. They also hope that in addition to academic cooperation, cooperation can also be carried out in publishing journals.
