Rector of Unud Prof. I Nyoman Gde Antara in his speech said that the inauguration of Professors today was not as usual, because those who were able to attend directly followed a limited procession according to the implementation of health protocols considering that we are currently still in a pandemic period amid the government's incessant vaccination program. But of course this does not reduce the meaning of the Inauguration procession carried out. Professor is the highest functional position for lecturers and of course to achieve it is not easy because it takes struggle, sacrifice and hard work in fulfilling the requirements in accordance with applicable regulations.

For universities, the number of professors they have has an important role as Prime Mover who drives the wheel of the Tridharma of Higher Education. The presence of Professors is also very important in strengthening the authority and quality of education in Higher Education. Almost every year there are professors who enter their retirement period and this must be anticipated with strategic steps so that lecturers who have doctoral degrees seek to increase their status to become professors. This Professorship, besides being a source of pride for being able to reach the highest level, also provides great benefits for the University, Faculties, Study Programs and students.

It was further stated that previously in March 2021, Udayana University had inaugurated six professors and within six months there were two professors who had retired and three professors died so that with the inauguration of fourteen professors today Currently, the number of professors owned by Udayana University is 171 people, this ratio has exceeded 12 percent of the total number of lecturers. This number is also expected to increase every year.

The Rector hopes that the professors who have been inaugurated are able to carry out their duties as well as possible, because behind this position there is a great meaning and demands for greater responsibility. As a professor, he is expected to be an example and able to protect and provide solutions to problems that arise in society through his knowledge to advance this nation and country.

The newly inaugurated Professors are also expected to be able to motivate juniors and colleagues to achieve this highest degree in an effort to increase the number of Excellent Human Resources at this beloved University, so that they are able to compete not only at the national level but also at the international level.

Through this opportunity, the Rector also expressed his gratitude to the Senate and the Senate Commission, the Leaders of Udayana University, the Credit Score Assessment Team and all parties who have supported and contributed to this day, Udayana University inaugurated Fourteen Permanent Professors.
