Participation of the Udayana Veterinary Alumni Association (IKAYANA Vet) in the Badung Government TumpekUye Celebration at Sangeh Tourism Park

The Udayana Veterinary Alumni Association who is a member of the Veterinary Care Forum took part in the RahinaTumpekUye celebration organized by the Badung Regency Government on Saturday KliwonUye (29/01/2022). The TumpekUye celebration this time by implementing strict health protocols was carried out in Sangeh Village, namely at the Sangeh Monkey Tourism Park and at DTW. TirtaMumbul Park.

The tumpekuye celebration was opened by the Regional Secretary of Badung, Adi Arnawa, and was also attended by the Head of Regional Apparatus Organizations throughout the Badung Regency. This celebration also attracted the enthusiasm of the Sangeh village community.

Badung Agriculture and Food Head Wayan Wijana said "TumpekUye is a teaching, where we as humans are expected to convey our gratitude to God through ceremonies, then also in its implementation is that we are expected to respect and love animals".

The RahinaTumpekUye Celebration activity this time is in accordance with the Bali Governor's Instruction No. 01 of 2022 concerning the RahinaTumpekUye Celebration with the Danu Kerthi ceremony as the implementation of the life of the Balinese people based on the values of Sad Kerthi local wisdom in the New Era of Bali. This type of activity is divided into two, namely niskala and scale. The types of activities are abstract, namely in the form of a lake purification ceremony and animal sacrifices as well as praying with Tumpekuye. While the activities carried out on a regular basis are in the form of cleaning (mareresik), releasing 10,000 fish into lakes/dams/springs, releasing birds and carrying out rabies vaccinations for dog.

According to the Head of Wijana, this activity is in line with the Governor's Instructions and the expectations of the tumpekuye celebration. "The Badung Agriculture and Food Service has carried out a series of activities in the form of Rabies vaccination with the Udayana Veterinary Alumni Association and the Veterinarian Care Forum and has also carried out Feeding (giving food) to monkeys in Sangeh as a form of concern for animals," said Wijana, in Sangeh.

1’st Vice Chairman  IKAYANA Vet Drh. Dewa Made Anom, who is also the Chair of the Caring Veterinary Forum, expressed his hope that activities that maintain the balance of nature can be sustainable. It was stated that the feeding monkeys in the form of bananas and sweet potatoes, as well as the implementation of rabies vaccination at the wantilanDTW.Tirta Taman Mumbul were 45 dogs.
