Training on Updating the Website of the Faculty of Agriculture, Unud

Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Unud Dr. Gusti Ngurah Alit Susanta Wirya, S.P, M.Agr. opened Study Program Website Management Training in the Senate Meeting Room, Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University, Denpasar, on Thursday (02/11/2023). The training was attended by study program heads from the Faculty of Agriculture, both undergraduate, master's and doctoral study programs, as well as study program and engineering website operators.


The Dean stated that the aim of the training was to update the website on the study program website. Through updating the quality website or the quality of information regarding the study program profile, study program documents, and activities reported on the study program website.


The Dean further expressed the aim of the training to make operators more professional, so that the content and appearance are more attractive. "The study program website is a reflection of the study program's excellence, which can be seen through the website," said the Dean.


The Unud Faculty of Agriculture plans to have a slot on the website for a special press managed by students, namely Chlorofil. In this way, student affairs coverage and activities can be updated on the faculty or study program website.


The Dean emphasized that the Web is a place to show off the greatness of the community, which is then managed by UPIK Faculty. Therefore, study programs must actively create news. Every activity must be reported. “This is part of the promotion. I am sure many will consult the Faculty of Agriculture, Unud. "Web visitors find many professional lecturers, especially as researchers," said the Dean.


The website can also be used as a place for promotion and socialization. Socialization can be via the web, so it can cover those who cannot meet face to face. The Dean advised participants to take part in the training well and this can be proven by the better content and appearance of the Unud Agriculture study program and faculty website.


Instructor Dr. Ir. Gede Wijana, M.S. emphasizes the importance of understanding and using the 5W+1H method in writing news or information. 5W 1H is a method used to obtain richer and deeper information. It is also emphasized that as a beginner writer you must have the courage to start. "Just write it first as it is, then correct it," suggested Wijana.


Matters regarding the technical management of study program websites were conveyed by I Gede Wahyu Pramartha, S.Kom. According to him, a website must be attractive in terms of appearance, complete with main features, and contain content that is useful for website visitors.


Deputy Dean for Student Affairs and Information Dr. I Made Sukewijaya, S.P., M.Sc. in the closing remarks of the training activity, he hoped that this training could encourage participants' interest in writing about the events that took place in each activity or task. Thus, there are no important events that the study program participants take part in that are not informed on their respective study program websites. "At least to provide text for the photos published on the website," said the Deputy Dean. (wjn)
