Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University Hosts the 2022 Precision Swine Nutrition and Feed Formulation Workshop in Indonesia

“Precision Swine Nutrition and Feed Formulation Workshop” is an activity held simultaneously in five countries in the world, and the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University was chosen to be the host in Indonesia. The organizers of this activity are the Indonesian Monogastric Association (AMI), in collaboration with the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University, the Indonesian Monogastric Veterinary Association (ADHMI), and the Association of Indonesian Pig Livestock Scientists (AITBI), with US Soy and the US Soy Export Council (USSEC). ) as the main sponsor. This event will be held from 18-19 July 2022 at AA Building, 3rd floor of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University, Jimbaran, Badung with the implementing coordinator, namely Dr. Ni Luh Gde Sumardani, S.Pt., M.Sc., and the entire series of activities were covered directly by Udayana TV. The activity was carried out in a hybrid manner with onsite and online participants, attended by more than 35 people, from Jakarta, Cilacap, Yogayakarta, Solo, Palangkaraya, Agats (Jayapura), Ambon, Kupang, and Bali with diverse backgrounds ranging from farmers. , institutions, government agencies, and the private sector.

This activity was attended and opened directly by the Director of the US Soy Export Council (USSEC) Indonesia, Ibnu Wiyono; Chairman of the Indonesian Monogastric Association (AMI), Dr. Sauland Sinaga, S.Pt., M.Sc.; The chairman of the Indonesian Monogastric Veterinary Association (ADHMI), drh. Michael Indra W., MBA.; and the Dean of the Faculty of Animal Science at Udayana University who also serves as Chair of the Association of Indonesian Pig Animal Scientists (AITBI), Dr. Ir. I Nyoman Tirta Ariana, M.S., IPU. The resource persons for this activity are Prof. Dr. Ir. Budi Tangendjaja, M.Sc., as a Consultant to the US Soy Export Council Indonesia. The topics presented in this workshop are related to the formulation of pig feed using a program that is accessed using a computer, by explaining and providing detailed training on how to use the program, formulating feed with different ingredients, adjusting formulas according to livestock needs, and adjusting feed ingredients that are formulated according to the desired feed price. This activity also carried out the delivery of materials and online discussions by a lecturer at the University of New England, Australia, Dr. Nischal Sharma who explained about the nutritional needs of pigs. This activity then ended with the delivery of certificates, prizes, and was officially closed by the Director of the US Soy Export Council Indonesia, the Chair of ADHMI, as well as the Dean of the Faculty of Animal Science at Udayana University and the Chair of AITBI.
