Further Cooperation Planning: The Leaders of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University Visit the Denpasar Veterinary Center.

 

The leaders of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FVM) Unud made a visit to the Denpasar Veterinary Center (DVC). During the visit, the leaders of the Unud FKH are represent by Prof. Dr. drh. I Nyoman Suartha MSi (Dean), Mr. Dr. drh I Gst. Ngurah Sudisma, MSi (Vice Dean for Planning and Academic Affairs), Mrs. Dr. drh Luh Gde Sri Surya Heryani, MBiomed (Vice Dean for General Affairs and Finance) and Dr.drh. I Wayan Sudira, MSi (Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Information and Cooperation), Prof. Dr. drh. I Made Dwinata, M.Kes (Coordinator of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Study Program) and Prof. Dr.drh I Ketut Puja, M.Kes (Director of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH), was welcomed by the Head of the Center, Mr. Drh I Ketut Wirata, MSi. Located in the DVC Meeting Room (10 May 2022).

On this occasion, the Head of the Veterinary Center welcomed and expressed his gratitude for the arrival of the FVM leaders’ group. At this meeting, “Cooperation between agencies within the Ministry of Agriculture and educational institutions, especially Veterinary Medicine, is very important in the progress of their respective fields; so, it is hoped that there will be coordination and cooperation between DVC and the Faculties,” said Drh I Ketut Wirata, M.Si. He also conveyed the need for cooperation, especially against the spread of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) that infects cattle in East Java, where the animal health sector needs to jointly voice about the existence of diseases and matters related to animal health with the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Unud, especially in the field of research and publications. scientifically, so that the voice of Bali resonates more at the National level. So far, DVC has also collaborated with various universities, but because currently there are 63 civil servants at DVC Denpasar with a very complex scope of work, including field work service, supervision of livestock distribution in Eastern Indonesia.

 

 

On this meeting, Dean of FKH Unud congratulated the Head of the Center for being appointed as the new Head of the Center replacing Drh. I Wayan Masa Tenaya, MPhil. PhD, I hope the trustee will carry out a new task and be given health so that he can carry out his duties well. It was said that one of the indicators of the progress of the faculty is accreditation. "To achieve superior accreditation, the role of relevant agencies is very important in order to improve the quality of the faculty, and there needs to be good cooperation in order to achieve superior accreditation," said Prof. Suartha.

In terms of cooperation in the field of education, it is acknowledged that DVC Denpasar is the mother of FVM Unud, because at that time all employees at DVC including the Head of the Center were involved as lecturers and student supervisors. During the meeting it was also revealed that so far DVC has collaborated in various fields of Research, Education and Service in accordance with the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. In the future, cooperation will be carried out in fulfilling the Main Performance Indicators (MPI) of the Independent Campus Learning Program of Faculty, which was launched by the Ministry of Education and Culture, one of which is an off-campus internship. That was the thing that was said by Vice Dean for Planning and Academic Affairs. On that occasion also conveyed the importance of documenting the activities carried out in order to follow up on the cooperation which was conveyed by the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Information and Cooperation. Moreover, Prof. Dwinata conveyed that co-assistance activities related to laboratory activities really need to be provided by DVC so that students can work on laboratory activities directly and be guided by staff from DVC. The Director of VTH (Prof. Puja), also reminded the importance of developing Forensic testing, which was deemed necessary because many cases faced by Veterinarians could not be resolved properly, especially if there was a legal dispute.

The contribution and involvement of DCV so far has been very clear, real and has been proven to be valid in supporting every activity carried out by FVM Unud, especially during accreditation. The meeting ended with a discussion about the implementation of the program which will be followed up during the implementation of the program of activities.
