Doctoral Program in Veterinary Science, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Udayana University, Visited by LAM-PTKes Assessors for On-Site Assessment
Jimbaran – The Assessor Team from the Indonesian Independent Accreditation Agency for Higher Education in Health (LAM-PTKes) conducted an on-site assessment as part of the accreditation process for the Doctoral Program in Veterinary Science, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH), Udayana University. The assessment officially commenced on Monday, 15 December 2025, at the Dean’s Building of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University, Jimbaran Campus. This activity forms part of Udayana University’s continuous efforts to ensure and enhance the quality of higher education, particularly at the doctoral level.
The on-site assessment was officially opened by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of Udayana University, Prof. Ir. I Nengah Sujaya, M.Agr.Sc., Ph.D., representing the Rector. In his remarks, the Vice Rector conveyed the strong commitment of the university leadership to fully support the accreditation process as a strategic step to enhance institutional recognition at both national and international levels.
He further emphasized that the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Udayana University possesses very strong academic resources, with 19 Professors out of a total of 72 academic staff, which is considered a highly significant achievement. In addition, the Faculty plays a vital role in the development and conservation of Bali’s superior genetic resources, including Bali cattle, Kintamani dogs, and Bali pigs, which constitute distinctive strengths with strategic value in the advancement of veterinary science.
Furthermore, it was stated that the supporting facilities and infrastructure, as well as the learning process at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Udayana University—particularly within the Doctoral Program in Veterinary Science—have been running very well. The Vice Rector expressed his hope that the academic community of the Faculty would continue to be given ample opportunities to explore and develop academic potential and innovations that may not yet have been fully identified.
The on-site assessment was conducted by the LAM-PTKes Assessor Team, consisting of Prof. drh. Agung Budiyanto, M.P., Ph.D. from Universitas Gadjah Mada, and Prof. Dr. drh. Yusuf Ridwan, M.Si. from IPB University. In their remarks, the assessors explained that the new accreditation system is designed to be more transparent and objective, thereby providing a more comprehensive overview of the quality of the assessed study program.
The Assessor Team also noted that if all supporting documents, the implementation of the learning process, and resource support have been optimally prepared, the opportunity to achieve an excellent accreditation status is very promising. The results of the on-site assessment will subsequently be submitted to the LAM-PTKes Council to determine the accreditation status of the Doctoral Program in Veterinary Science in accordance with applicable regulations.
Through the implementation of this on-site assessment, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Udayana University, particularly the Doctoral Program in Veterinary Science, hopes to achieve optimal accreditation results as a reflection of the high quality and competitiveness of its doctoral education. This activity also serves as a momentum for continuous evaluation and strengthening in support of Udayana University’s vision to become a leading, independent, and culturally grounded university at both national and international levels.
