Introducing Plastic Surgery Services, Udayana University Hospital Holds Cleft Lip and Palate Social Service

Jimbaran - Udayana University Hospital (Unud Hospital) collaborates with the Reconstructive and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Specialist Study Program, Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Therapy, Faculty of Medicine (FK) Unud and collaborates with NMW Group as a partner to hold a Cleft Lip and Palate Social Service with the theme "Restore Children's Smiles". The opening of this social service was attended by the Rector of Unud, the Dean of Medical Faculty, the Managing Director of the Unud Hospital and staff, the Coordins of Study Programs and Heads of related Departments, the Head of the PERAPI Branch of the Bali-Nusra Branch A.A. Gede Ngurah Asmarajaya as the founder of Plastic Surgery in Bali, the Leader of the NMW Group and the ranks and Spokesperson Rector of Udayana University.

Chairman of the Executive Committee dr. Agus Roy Rusly Hariantana Hamid in his report said that this social service activity is an annual event held with the hope of helping improve the quality of life for people with cleft lip and palate. This activity is also to introduce services at Unud Hospital, especially plastic surgery and anesthesia to the wider community. The social service will last for three days (19-21 May 2022), where there are 18 patients with cleft lip, palate and gums, but unfortunately there are some patients who still meet the eligibility requirements for surgery. However, it will still be followed up and followed up according to the procedure. In addition to the operation in this social service, counseling for cleft lip and palate will also be carried out. He hopes that this activity can help improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

The President Director of the Unud Hospital, Prof. I Dewa Made Sukrama conveyed this activity as a series of National Awakening Day on May 20, 2022 which was realized in the form of social service through a collaboration. Social service like this is expected to be sustainable, where the Unud Hospital facilitates according to the availability of facilities such as operating rooms, inpatient rooms, polyclinics, laboratories and other supporting facilities. He hoped that this activity would run smoothly and patients would get the best treatment at the Unud Hospital.

While the Rector of Unud Prof. I Nyoman Gde Antara expressed his gratitude to Unud Hospital and the parties involved in social service through community service to help the nation's children. Unud Hospital is expected to continue to grow and become our pride. His party has paid great attention to Unud Hospital because it carries a mission not only to serve the community but also to the integrity of Udayana University. The challenges for the hospital in the future are certainly extraordinary, for that Unud Hospital must be able to collaborate with international partners. Furthermore, the Rector said that this social service activity also shows the concern of Unud Hospital for the community, and in the future it may be possible to carry out social services related to stunting, nutrition and others. As an educational institution, we must be close to the community. Whatever the main tasks and functions are done, they must be close to the community and we must help each other.

The opening of the social service was marked by a virtual live report by the team from the operating room to the Rector of Unud. In this activity, symbolic handover of assistance to patients was also carried out by the NMW Group Leader which was received by the President Director of the Unud Hospital.
