Veterinary Work Lecture (KKV) of Udayana University: Invite Students to Do It Livestock Visit and Village Exploration in Sebatu, Gianyar

Every year, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FVM) of Udayana University (Unud) always holds a Veterinary Work Lecture (KKV) which is now in its 35th year of celebration. This year, KKV FVM Unud officially collaborated with the Gianyar Regency Agriculture Office and also the Sebatu Village who were willing to be the venue for the activity. The activity entitled "Sewagati Anggit Baksya Asasta"This is a mandatory closing activity for new students of FVM Unud which will be held for three days and two nights from 24 to 26 January 2023.

 

On Tuesday (24/01), the first day as well as the official opening of the KKV XXXV activity was held at the Banjar Jasan Field in Sebatu Village which was attended by representatives of the Gianyar Regency Agriculture Service, Head of UPTD II Tegallalang Gianyar, Sebatu Village Secretary, Sebatu Village Banjar Kelian, and deputy dean III of FVM Unud, lecturers and assistant coordinators.

 

In the opening that was held, Mr. Made Santiarka as the Head of the Animal Health Division of the Gianyar Agriculture Service also expressed his gratitude for choosing Gianyar as the location for the activity because in essence universities have an active role in solving livestock problems both upstream and downstream.

 

"For friends who are participants of the KKV, we hope that all the input given can be implemented, then join this activity with a happy heart so that you can get it output happy as well as an unforgettable experience," said Dr. Drh. I Wayan Sudira, M.Si in giving a speech at the opening of XXXV KKV Activities. The activity was officially opened symbolically with a girdle nametag on representatives of male and female participants from KKV activities.

 

After the opening, activities continued with talkshow and interactive discussion between resource persons and participants. In this activity, we present three resource persons who have been adapted to the interests of the participants and the potential that exists in Sebatu Village. The first resource person is Mr. I Wayan Gina, S.Sos as an Entrepreneur in the Water Resources Field, followed by Mr. I Wayan Suardila as a CraftsmanHandicraft and Wooden Sculpture, and ended by Mr. I Nyoman Diana as an Entrepreneur in the Luwak Coffee Agrotourism Tourism Sector. On the agenda talkshow and this interactive discussion, the village side also advised the participants to maximize the time allotted to find out and explore the potentials that exist in Sebatu so that later it will be developed into an idea that can be applied in the output of the KKV, namely the Student Creativity Program (PKM).

 

 

Then, the activities continued on the second day (25/01) which began with checking luggage and doing morning exercises. The second day's activities can be said to be quite solid because participants will go down directly to visit farmers and the surrounding community to conduct livestock visits and village exploration. Cattle visits and village explorations were held in four hamlets of Sebatu Village, namely Banjar Jati, Banjar Jasan, and Banjar Tegal Suci, as well as Banjar Apuh. When conducting livestock visits to large breeders that have been prepared by the committee, participants can participate in providing feed, cleaning stables, bathing livestock, and discussing things with breeders about things they want to know. It didn't stop there, the participants also visited people's homes one by one to collect data regarding the potential and diseases or problems that exist in livestock there, where later this disease or problem data can be used as a reference in the follow-up activities of KKV, namely Animal Health Social Work Activities.

 

"For me Theutbound KKV XXXV can be said to be a success because it succeeded in making us as participants really feel exciting and happy," said Adi Putra Novanolo Waruwu as a representative of cluster 10. There was a problem with KKV not being allowed to borrow several areas that would be used as spots.outbound not make the committee discouraged to make a backup plan for activities outbound can still run. By utilizing the existing field area, five posts were formed outbound which is preceded by a naked tower post, pos glow up, rest post, and walking sarong post, as well as one command post. It was seen that the participants were very happy in the games at each post because each post had its own characteristics for the materials used, starting from water, mud and flour.

 

 

To conclude the second day and the agenda that has always been eagerly awaited, both by the committee, participants, and alumni of FVM Unud. In the evening, a bonfire is held which is opened directly byProf. Dr. Drh. I Nyoman Suartha, M.Si as the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University and continued with an evening of intimacy featuring art performances that have been prepared by the participants within a period of two weeks. The art performances displayed are also very diverse, ranging from drama, wayang, pantomime, musical drama, dance, and other creative things.

 

“Our preparations were fairly short. Starting from D-5 at the peak of KKV, we discussed the theme to be raised, the materials to be used, and continued to practice until unexpectedly it turned out that we were the winners in this art performance. To be honest, this art performance agenda is my favorite agenda out of all the existing agendas,” said Muhammad Fadly as the Head of Cluster 1 who won the best art performance category.

 

Furthermore, on Thursday (26/01), which was the last day as well as the closing of KKV XXXV, it began with mutual cooperation and cleaning area around. The activity continued with group photos, both the committee, participants, as well as lecturers and co-ordinators this year. Happy

 

expressions radiated from the faces of the participants. In fact, according to Nolan, one of the participants thought that the KKV activities this time were almost perfect. The activity ended with remarks and thanks from the village and lecturers who in this case were represented by Drh. I Wayan Sukernayasa, M.Sc.

 

"If in the implementation of this KKV there is a mistake, hopefully it is forgiven. Then, FVM activities do not end at this KKV and of course later we will try other activities in this village, such as social work so that we all love the veterinary profession more,” concluded Drh. I Wayan Sukernayasa, M.Sc. when giving a speech and closing the event.
