Udayana University Collaborates with The Asia Pacific Institute for Events Management UK
Jimbaran - Udayana University (Unud) has collaborated with APIEM (The Asia Pacific Institute for Events Management) UK, which was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Nusa Room, Jimbaran Campus Rectorate Building, Wednesday (28/5/2025).
The signing event was attended by the Rector of Unud, Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation and Information, the Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and staff, the KUI Coordinator and the Cooperation and Public Relations Section of Unud. Meanwhile, those attending from APIEM were the President of APIEM UK Prof. David Hind, Vice President of APIEM Indonesia Mr. Sirajuddin and APIEM Instructor/Executive Mrs. Peni Zulandri Suroto.
Rector of Unud Prof. Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, ST., Ph.D in his speech said that the signing of this MoU marked the start of a strategic and inspiring collaboration between the two institutions, where both parties agreed to work together to promote their respective missions, share expertise and advance the quality of education and research in the fields of event implementation, hospitality and tourism.
They feel proud to be able to work with APIEM and have a shared commitment to excellence. This collaboration also complements Udayana University's accreditation where APIEM as International of Excellence can provide British accredited certification for faculty and students at Unud. Apart from that, it also organizes conferences and joint research in the fields of MICE and Event Management. Through this collaboration, it is hoped that it can create valuable opportunities that will benefit not only Udayana University but also the academic and professional community in Indonesia.
Meanwhile, APIEM President Prof. David Hind on this occasion explained about APIEM, which was founded in 2016 and serves universities, polytechnics, colleges and the professional events industry. APIEM is dedicated to encouraging growth and professionalism in the events industry in the Asia Pacific region, especially in Southeast Asia.
The initial focus will be on providing accreditation schemes and comprehensive training and support to universities, polytechnics and colleges empowering them to develop high quality event management programs to international standards. APIEM has 800 professional Members and 50 Institutional Members. Through this opportunity, the party also congratulated Prof. Dr. Drs. I Putu Anom, M.Par from the Unud Faculty of Tourism who has become an APIEM Executive certified tourism educator.
