UNUD Intensively Develops Career and Student Entrepreneurship Programs

Bukit Jimbaran - In order to produce ready-to-work and ready-to-open business graduates, Udayana University continuously designs a variety of balancing soft skills and hard skills development programs. Hard skills are given by the lecturer in various learning activities in the classroom with the latest materials. Meanwhile soft skills in addition are developed in various forms, both intra and extra-curricular.

Udayana University has established a Career Development Centre (CDC) since 2007 for job seeker-oriented students. Various activities have been carried out by the CDC Unud, such as soft skill training, Job Fair, Campus Hiring, taking part in the Selection of labor recruitment of SOEs and national wide private companies. CDC Unud performs a variety of innovations in the career development in the form of Carrier Counseling in cooperation with BNI Bank.

In order to help create job vacancies, Unud has also developed an entrepreneurial practice since 2009. Job creator-oriented students were trained through a unit called the Enterprise Development Center (EDC).  Unud entrepreneurial program has scored young entrepreneurs a reliable and successful achievement, both at regional and national levels. Unud young entrepreneurs helped absorb labor.

On Saturday, June 20, 2015, the Bureau of Student Administration Affairs, supervising the CDC and EDC Unud, conducted Career Development and Entrepreneurship programs for Bidikmisi scholarship receivers at the Auditorium Widya Sabha, Bukit Jimbaran entitled "Success in Carrier and Business with the Power of Dharma".  On the first session, the CDC Chairman, Dr. I Gede Riana, SE., MM,  the EDC Chairman,  Sayu Ketut Sutrisna Dewi, SE., MM., Ak, and the Regional CEO BNI of Bali, NTB and NTT, Drs. Aryanto Purwadi, SE., MM presented their materials. The activity became the magic moment due to the presence of Swamiji Purnamritananda Puri, general secretary Amrita Math Embrecing the World of Amma Organization India to lecturing and entrepreneurial meditating.

Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Wijaya, MS, chairman of the organizing committee, stated that the seminar was attended by 500 people consisting of students receiving Bidikmisi scholarships, student entrepreneurs and a few law students from state and private universities in Denpasar and Badung. Meanwhile Drs IGN Indra Kecapa ME.d, the Head of Student Affairs Bureau Udayana University said that career development and Entrepreneurship programs have become one of the strategic programs due to the establishment of a unit that handles Student Entrepreneurship Development (PMW) in 2009 and even the Career Development Center (CDC) had been established previously.

Furthermore, Vice Rector III, Dr. I Nyoman Suyatna, SH, MH, in his speech representing the Rector of Udayana University said that this event was a proof that the university has seriously prepared graduates to be more qualified, so that they could compete in the work place  and business world. The presence of Swamiji Purnamritananda Puri was one form of cooperation between the university with Amma Organization that has cretaing millions of successful business people in developed countries, especially Japan and Singapore.
