Language Center of Udayana University Held "Academic and Speed ​​Reading" Webinar

In terms of increasing the competence of the academic community in linguistic skills, Language Center in accordance with its main function, namely increasing the competence of the academic community in language skills, organizes Academic Webinar and Speed ​​Reading through Webex Meetings. The Head of Language Center of Udayana University, Sang Ayu Isnu Maharani, SS., M.Hum said that this Academic and Speed ​​Reading webinar presented one of the language skills, namely reading. Reading is an English skill that is no less important than speaking, listening, and writing skills. Reading is a very important activity in daily activities such as looking for information so we should not rule out reading skills. The webinar which was attended by lecturers, students, and general participants totaling 145 people by presenting by resource persons who are qualified in their fields, namely Prof. Dr. Ni Luh Sutjiati Beratha, M.A and moderated by Dr. Ni Ketut Widhiarcani Matradewi.

This webinar was opened by the Rector of Udayana University who in this case was represented by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gede Rai Maya Temaja, MP. In his speech, the Vice Rector I said that the University salutes and fully supports the activities organized by Language Center in facilitating the academic community in improving language skills. As academics, we are highly demanded for the ability to write scientific works, one of which is that we need to read a lot to add references. In this webinar activity, a speed reading method is presented to quickly identify keywords in scientific reading, especially in English. Participants are expected to be able to explore the knowledge presented by the resource person so that it is useful for self-reading skills.
