LP3M Udayana University Holds Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) Training

LP3M Udayana University Holds Udayana University Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) Training which takes place in a hybrid manner with the main location in the Postgraduate Building Hall, Sudirman Campus, Denpasar, Thursday (24/3/2022). The opening was attended by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs representing the Rector of Udayana University, the Chair and Secretary of LP3M, the Deans, the Postgraduate Director, the Head of USDI, the Head of the Library UPT, the Head of the Language UPT, and other invitees.

Chairman of the Executive Committee Ida Bagus Wayan Gunam, Ph.D in his report said that we have conducted SPMI Training every year with the aim of increasing understanding of the Internal Quality Assurance System at Udayana University, as well as to improve the quality of higher education in a planned and sustainable manner and build a quality culture at Udayana University. . Participants in this training were around 200 people consisting of all Study Programs Coordinator, UP3M, TPPM, LP3M Team and lecturer representatives from all faculties/postgraduates in Udayana University. This training will be coupled with the SPMI Document Completion Training which will be held in April 2022. Therefore, participants in this training are expected to also become participants in the upcoming SPMI Document Completion training. He hoped that this SPMI training could bring benefits in improving quality assurance at the level of study programs, faculties, and universities.

Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of Udayana University Prof. I Gede Rai Maya Temaja in his speech said that the most important thing in the seriousness of education is the effort to guarantee academic quality. Quality is something that is promised by service providers that are in line with what is expected by the audience, especially interested parties. SPMI is an autonomous higher education quality assurance activity by each tertiary institution to control and improve the implementation of higher education in a planned and sustainable manner. The aim is to ensure the fulfillment of higher education standards in a systemic and sustainable manner so that a culture of quality grows and develops.

More Prof. Rai said that Udayana University already had four SPMI documents regulated in Rector's Regulation Number 4 of 2020, namely the SPMI Policy, SPMI Manual, SPMI Standard and SPMI Formular. Specifically regarding Udayana University Standards, it is regulated in the Rector's of Udayana University Regulation Number 14 of 2020. The quality assurance cycle also continues to be developed and implemented with a cycle model that includes determination, implementation, implementation evaluation, implementation control and quality standard improvement (PPEPP cycle). All stages and implementation of internal quality assurance must be carried out consistently and continuously improve so that a quality culture will be achieved at this beloved University. For this reason, we together fully understand internal quality assurance by participating in this SPMI training, which will later be equipped with SPMI Document Training so that we can act as internal quality auditors. The Vice Rector gave his appreciation to the speakers and participants for observing and participating in the activities diligently.

This activity lasted for two full days by presenting 9 speakers, namely Prof. Nyoman Sadra Dharmawan, Dr. J. Pramana Gentur Sutapa (UGM), I Nengah Sujaya, Ph.D (Chairman of LP3M of Udayana University), Prof. I Made Alit Employee Salain (Secretary of LP3M of Udayana University), Dr. I Wayan Suardana (Dean of the Faculty of Tourism Udayana University), Prof. Ni Nyoman Suryani, Dr. Ni Luh Gede Astariyani, Dr. Ni Luh Nyoman Seri Malini and Fathurrahman, SE., M.Ak. from BPM Unizar (Representative of PT Asuh). The Training Materials are the National Policy on SPM Dikti & SN-Dikti, SPMI Documents (Policies, Manuals, Standards, & SPMI Forms), SPMI & SPME Linkages and SPMI Implementation at UGM, Udayana University and Unizar.
