New Student Orientation at Bali International Program on Asian Studies (BIPAS) Autumn 2021

Monday (6/9/2021) the Faculty of Humanities through the Webex application held a new Student Orientation for the BIPAS Program (Bali International Program on Asian Studies in the Autumn 2021 semester. This event was attended by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gede Rai Maya Temaja, MP; Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences; Vice Deans of FIB; Chair and Secretary of BIPAS; Chair of UPIKS; Koprodi at FIB and Chief Representative Officer of Asiabroad Mr. Hannes Borgwardt.

The BIPAS Program Coordinator, Anak Agung Sagung Shanti Sari Dewi, SS, M. Hum., M.App.Ling in his report conveyed his happiness in welcoming new students to the BIPAS Program even though this event was held online, where as we all know that the impact of the Pandemic Covid-19 is very influential in the world of education, including education at Udayana University, so that all education is carried out through an online lecture system. Even so, BIPAS has prepared an academic system that can be utilized by its users, both students and educators (lecturers). The number of students in the 25th batch is 16 people who come from several countries in Europe, including Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and Finland. This orientation activity aims to provide academic information for students about Indonesia, especially Bali and the BIPAS program at Udayana University. Lecture activities will begin September 7, 2021 and will end on December 22, 2021. All lecture activities are carried out online using the Webex application and are supported by dropbox BIPAS and OASE. And to overcome the problem of the time difference between Indonesia and abroad, lecture hours start at 15.00-21.30 WITA which means 08.00-14.30 European time.

On this occasion the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Dr. Made Sri Satyawati,S.S.,M.Hum expressed his gratitude for choosing Udayana University, especially the BIPAS Program as an option in continuing their studies. He did not forget to thank all parties who have supported the implementation of the BIPAS Program, both from cooperation partners, Asia Exchange, as well as for Professors and Lecturers who have been enthusiastic and dedicated themselves to the BIPAS program.

Likewise, the Chief Representative Officer of Asiabroad Mr. Hannes Borgwardt expressed his joy as a partner of BIPAS cooperation and symbolically handed over the student exchange program to the Rector of Udayana University who on this occasion was represented by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs.

Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gede Rai Maya Temaja, M.P in his speech conveyed his welcome and thank you for joining one of the international programs at Udayana University. Where before the pandemic period more than 1600 foreign students had studied at Udayana University every year. It is an honor for Unud to have international programs such as BIPAS which opens opportunities for international students to experience academic experiences at Udayana University, particularly in the fields of tourism, economics and business, law, entrepreneurship, communication, sociology and culture. Udayana University is committed to providing quality learning and good service.

After the Opening, the event continued with student orientation activities to introduce Bali, Udayana University and learning in the BIPAS Program.
