Commemorating Fisherman's Day and Earth Day, Lecturer of Food Technology Study Program, FTP Unud Collaborates to Empower Seaweed Farmers in Lembongan Village

In order to commemorate Fisherman's Day and National Earth Day which is celebrated on 6th April 2022 and 22nd April 2022. Lecturer of the Food Technology Study Program, namely Dr. Ir. Komang Ayu Nocianitri, M.Agr.Sc and I Desak Putu Kartika Pratiwi, S.TP., M.P. in collaboration with the Cakra Abhipraya Responsif Regional Bali Foundation held a community empowerment program, especially Seaweed Farmers with the spirit of collaboration in Lembongan Village, Nusa Penida District, Klungkung.

 

The Cakra Abhipraya Responsif Regional Bali Foundation is a social foundation that focuses on children, humanity and the environment. The collaboration between the Foundation and Lecturers of the Food Technology Study Program is to solve the problems of Seaweed Farmers in Lembongan Village by providing education and practice on Production Process to Increase the Shelf Life of Products and Standardization of PIRT and BPOM Permits.

 

The Lecturer of the Food Technology Study Program, namely Dr. Ir. Komang Ayu Nocianitri, M.Agr.Sc and I Desak Putu Kartika Pratiwi, S.TP., M.P. educates the farmers about good production methods, improve the production process for fresh juice drinks from seaweed so that the resulting product has a longer shelf life. Mrs. Dr. Ir. Komang Ayu Nocianitri, M.Agr.Sc also reported that farmers have produced fresh seaweed juice, but they have a problem with the short shelf life, so we provide education, input and improvements in the beverage production process so the products can has a longer shelf life.
