I Gusti Putu Bagus Suka Arjawa, M.Sc., who is also the first professor at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Udayana University. (10/12/2022)

As one of the lecturers who played a role in the formation of FISIP Udayana and has also contributed as a teacher at FISIP Udayana since 2010. Prof. Suka Arjawa has been inaugurated as a Professor of the Sociology of Religion. By raising the "Ngaben Krematorium" as a dissertation, Prof. Suka Arjawa started to study sociology, especially the sociology of religion.

In his scientific speech, Prof. Suka Arjawa tries to link the sociology of religion, namely how hermeneutics as a theory and method can then be used to explore the symbols of various ceremonial rituals and ceremonial facilities from Bali. So, thus the effort to interpret the ritual symbols of ceremonies in Bali can simplify the various rituals of Balinese Hinduism. This is intended as education regarding the meaning of activities and symbols of religious rituals that have been carried out by the Balinese people.

Quoted from Udayana TV, Prof. Suka Arjawa said that in a number of literature efforts to simplify Hindu religious rituals in Bali have not been maximized. Thus, this simplification effort became the focus of his dissertation. The urgency of success in simplifying Hindu religious rituals in Bali without completely eliminating its essence can help save people's energy, time and costs.

With his inauguration as Professor, Prof. Suka Arjawa is committed to continuing pursuing knowledge in the field of sociology of religion, and tries to find the meaning of the ritual, and tries to explain it to the community slowly so that people can understand the meaning of the ritual being carried out.
