Saturday, November 19, 2022. A Public Lecture was held which was a collaboration between 3 faculties at 3 universities, namely the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University, Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra and Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Hasanuddin University. The activity takes place online through the Zoom Meeting application at 10.00-12.00 WITA. It was opened by the Dean of the USU Faculty of Agriculture Dr. Ir. Tavi Supriana, MS., Deputy Dean for Student Affairs and Information Fapet Unud Dr. I Nyoman Sumerta Miwada, S.Pt., MP. and Dean of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry Unhas Dr. Syahdar Baba, S.Pt., M.Sc. which was attended by students at the bachelor, master and doctoral levels of the three faculties.
The topic raised in this public lecture was entitled "Meat-Based Functional Food Products" delivered by Prof. Dr. Ir. Elisa Julianti, M.Sc., Professor of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra. In the topic presented, Prof. Elisa said that “there are many beliefs in society which state that the food we eat greatly affects us both physically and psychologically. When we actually eat healthy food, when we eat healthy food products, we actually don't need medicine." explained Prof. Elisha. "When we pay attention to our food, be it the type, thor e amount we eat, we will automatically become healthy. Yes, that's why in the end we will see that functional foods can develop. We eat evevery dayt is a necessity of our life. As long as humans are still alive, they definitely need food.” continued Prof. Elisa.
