Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Unud Extends Cooperation with PT. Sanbio Laboratories in the Tri Dharma of Higher Education



 As one of the higher education institutions, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University hopes to produce graduates who are competent and able to compete in the world of work. To achieve this, FVM students or prospective veterinarians must gain sufficient practical and research experience. In order to improve the research and practice experience for students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University always adds collaboration with various parties. On May 30, 2022 at Avenzel Hotel and Convention Cibubur, FVM Unud signed a cooperation agreement (CA) with PT. Sanbio Laboratories. PT Sanbio Laboratories is a veterinary drug company engaged in veterinary medicine and animal vaccines, especially poultry. The signing of this collaboration is an extension of the third collaboration between FVM Unud and PT Sanbio which has started in 2019.

 


The CA signing activity was attended by the Dean, Vice Deans, Study Program Coordinators, Unit Heads, and Education Personnel in the Unud FVM. Meanwhile, from the PT. Sanbio Laboratories was represented by Steffi Ong, B. Sc (Hons), Vice Director of PT. Sanbio Laboratories and drh. Arini Nurhandayani, MM. as Factory Manager of PT. Sanbio Laboratories. The activity began with remarks from each representative of the institution. Steffi Ong expressed her gratitude to FVM Unud for this collaboration. He added that there have been many activities that have been running between PT. Sanbio with FVM Unud such as making vaccine seeds, field testing of vaccines (H5N1 and H9N2), as well as student internships. It is also hoped that this cooperation activity can continue and can provide benefits to both parties. Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University represented by the Dean of FVM: Prof. Dr. drh. I Nyoman Suartha, M.Si expressed his gratitude to PT. Sanbio for the cooperation that has been going on so far and in the future. Cooperation between FVM Unud and PT. Sanbio is very important, because PT Sanbio can be a place of practice and research for FVM students, especially in the field of vaccine manufacture. Furthermore, Prof. Suartha added that this collaboration activity was not only for students but also for lecturers and researchers at FVM Unud in developing science.

 


After the signing of the CA by both parties. The activity continued with a visit to PT. Sanbio Laboratories that located in Bogor, to see the facilities there. On this occasion, FVM Parties were able to see the facilities there such as Vaccine Seed Room, PCR Room and Research Laboratory with Biosafety Level 3. Facilities -This facility really supports the activities of PT. Sanbio especially in research on Vaccines. So that lecturers and students of FVM Unud can use this facility in their research. Prof. Dr. drh. Gusti Ayu Yuniati Kencana, MP as the PIC of this collaboration added, “Many of our students, especially Masters in Veterinary Medicine, have conducted research at PT. This Sanbio. Where the results of their research can be used as additional data or the basis for making animal health products or vaccines by PT Sanbio.” So that both parties’ get benefit from this collaboration.
