Thursday, May 12, 2022. Doctoral Program in Animal Science, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University has held a Curriculum Workshop at the Postgraduate Hall, Lt. 3 Udayana University. Jl. PB. Sudirman Denpasar. Implementation of offline activities by complying with health protocols. This workshop was opened directly by the Chancellor of Udayana University, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Nyoman Gde Antara, M. Eng, IPU. and attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University, Dr. Ir. I Nyoman Tirta Ariana, MS., IPU. along with their ranks, Koprodi S3 Animal Science, Representatives from Universities, Government Agencies, Stakeholders/companies, Lecturers and Alumni.

This workshop event took the theme "Strengthening the Curriculum of the Animal Science Doctoral Study Program Facing the Industrial Revolution 4.0, presenting two resource persons, namely Prof. Dr. Ir. Luki Abdullah, M.Sc.Agr., IPU. from IPB and Prof. Dr. Ir. Ni Nyoman Suryani, M.Sc. (Co-Prodi Doctoral Animal Husbandry). The purpose of this workshop is to improve the curriculum, adjust to the development of science and technology, and adjust to the needs of stakeholders. The Chair of the Workshop Committee, namely Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gede Mahardika, MS in his report said that the curriculum is one of the most important tools in the development of education, so the main purpose of this workshop is to improve the curriculum so that it can really provide the maximum benefit for the development of education in the Doctor of Sciences Study Program. Livestock, so that alumni or graduates will become alumni who are able to explore and develop science and technology, especially in the field of animal husbandry. His party also said that the refinement of this curriculum had begun some time ago one month ago and the results were in the form of evaluation results which would be discussed in this workshop. The chairman of the committee hopes that participants can provide input on what has been made so that the curriculum is made as desired. This workshop was attended by around 65 participants.

Dean of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Unud, Dr. Ir. I Nyoman Tirta Ariana, MS., IPU. in his remarks conveyed that the Doctoral Study Program of Animal Science is currently accredited A and according to the direction of the Chancellor through LP3M is predicted to be directed to be Superior. For this reason, through this workshop, we will formulate a curriculum that has not been reviewed for a long time by presenting speakers Prof. Luki and Prof. Syria. It is hoped that through this activity the resource persons can provide direction to produce a contemporary curriculum according to user needs. “We invite users, stakeholders, academics and teaching lecturers to formulate a curriculum that has not been reviewed for a long time. We hope that with the presence of the Chancellor, to provide direction and our resource person, Prof. Luki and Prof. Suryani to provide guidance materials for this workshop”, said Tirta.

Unud Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ir. I Nyoman Gde Antara, M. Eng, IPU. in his direction conveyed Unud's future development plans. Through this opportunity, the Chancellor informed that through ISK AIPT Unud from A had become Superior. In order to create an integrated campus education ecosystem, we must make adjustments both in the academic field, Human Resources Infrastructure, and other supports. For this year, there will be 25 infrastructure development projects including the construction of 8 new Dean buildings to the hills. Furthermore, the Chancellor said that his party was also intensively pursuing a quality culture, namely AMI through LP3M and accreditation. Study programs that are accredited B must immediately go to A, for those who have A, they should be encouraged to become Superior and to international accreditation. Meanwhile, regarding the curriculum, it is necessary to always update it so that it is representative and in accordance with what is needed by the stakeholders. This workshop is expected to be supported through input from stakeholders and is expected to increase the absorption of alumni in the community.

The material presented by the resource persons was regarding curriculum development and management of study programs delivered by Prof. Dr. Ir. Luki Abdullah, M.Sc.Agr., IPU., then continued with the presentation from the second resource person about revitalizing the KKNI-based doctoral program in animal science curriculum. After the presentation of the speakers, the workshop participants were grouped into 3 groups, namely Group I discussing the Graduate Profile and CPL, group II discussing Compulsory Courses and group III discussing Dissertation Supporting Courses. Then each group held a session and the results were presented to the plenary session. Finally, the results of the plenary session were formulated by the Chairman of the Formulating Team, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gede Mahardika, MS.
