Master’s Program in Linguistics, Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University Receives a Visit from BAN-PT Assessors
Denpasar – The Master’s Program in Linguistics, Faculty of Humanities (FIB), Udayana University, received a visit from the Assessors of the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) as part of the On-Site Accreditation Assessment for the study program, held from November 7–9, 2025. The opening ceremony took place in the Ir. Soekarno Room, Poerbatjaraka Building, Faculty of Humanities, Sudirman Campus, Denpasar, on Saturday (November 8, 2025). The assessment team consisted of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rohmadi, S.S., M.Hum and Prof. Dr. Maman Suryaman, M.Pd.
In his remarks, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Dr. I Nyoman Aryawibawa, Ph.D., expressed his gratitude for the visit from the assessors. He explained that the Faculty’s Quality Assurance Team (TPPM) had worked hard in preparing for this assessment. The purpose of the assessment is to verify and clarify the data and information previously submitted in the accreditation documents. This on-site assessment serves as an important moment to ensure that the quality of the Master’s Program in Linguistics meets national standards and educational needs.
“We hope that through this on-site assessment, we will receive constructive input from the BAN-PT assessors to further improve and enhance the quality of the Master’s Program in Linguistics at the Faculty of Humanities,” said the Dean.
Representing the Rector of Udayana University, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. I Nengah Sujaya, stated in his remarks that Udayana University is currently awaiting the issuance of the State University with Legal Entity (PTNBH) decree. This achievement, he said, cannot be separated from the overall performance and quality of the university, as one of the key requirements for PTNBH status is having an A (Excellent) institutional accreditation and at least **60% of study programs accredited Excellent (A/“Unggul”)*. Udayana University currently meets this requirement, with 13 faculties and 135 study programs, 60% of which have already achieved Excellent accreditation. However, as Unud aims to become a PTNBH, the target is to raise this figure to around 80% Excellent-accredited study programs, with several programs also obtaining international accreditation.
The Faculty of Humanities is one of the founding faculties of Udayana University, and the university leadership remains strongly committed to its continued development. At Udayana University, quality remains the top priority — encompassing the relevance, excellence, and attractiveness of each study program. Accreditation serves as a benchmark to evaluate whether a study program meets the established criteria, ensuring that graduates can contribute effectively to society.
“Of course, in the implementation process, there may still be areas that need improvement, and these can serve as notes or recommendations from the Assessors,” the Vice Rector said. “We hope the Assessors will provide valuable feedback to help enhance our quality and move forward in improving the competence of our graduates.” He also encouraged the Dean and the Team to provide full access and support to the assessors throughout the process, expressing his hope that the program would achieve an Excellent accreditation rating.
Meanwhile, the BAN-PT Assessors expressed their appreciation for the warm welcome from the faculty and conveyed their hope that the Faculty of Humanities would achieve the highest possible level of accreditation. Through this assessment, the team will conduct further exploration, clarification, discussions, and confirmation of the information submitted to BAN-PT.
