Rector of Udayana University Signs 2026 Impact-Oriented Higher Education Performance Contract
Jakarta – Udayana University (Unud) reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the transformation of Indonesia’s higher education system through the attendance of the Rector of Udayana University at the Signing of the 2026 Impact-Oriented Higher Education Performance Contract, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek), on Monday (January 5, 2026).
The event, held in Jakarta, marked a strategic step by the government to align the governance of higher education institutions across Indonesia with the grand vision of Golden Indonesia 2045. The performance contracts were signed directly by Rectors of State Universities (PTN) and leaders of Private Universities (PTS), and were witnessed by the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Brian Yuliarto.
The Rector of Udayana University attended the event in person and signed the performance contract as a manifestation of Unud’s commitment to realizing accountable and transparent university governance, oriented toward measurable performance achievements and tangible impacts for society.
In his remarks, Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto emphasized that the performance contract is not merely an administrative document, but a shared guideline to ensure that all universities move in harmony to generate breakthroughs, strengthen advanced industries, and promote the downstreaming of research outcomes.
“Through togetherness, we can form a national orchestra that complements one another and delivers real impacts for society,” Minister Brian stated.
Furthermore, he highlighted that universities play a strategic role in developing superior human resources, strengthening research capacity, and downstreaming innovations capable of driving national economic growth. The government is also paying close attention to strengthening the role of lecturers, improving their welfare, and developing a sustainable research ecosystem.
Udayana University was one of the universities representing the State University (PTN) category in the symbolic signing of the performance contract, alongside several leading institutions such as the University of Indonesia, Gadjah Mada University, Bandung Institute of Technology, Airlangga University, and IPB University.
The series of activities also included a sharing session discussing strategies to improve lecturers’ welfare and efforts to achieve the Higher Education Key Performance Indicators (KPI/IKU), as part of strengthening sustainable campus governance.
Through the signing of this performance contract, Udayana University reinforces its commitment to enhancing the quality of the tridharma of higher education, strengthening research and innovation, and making tangible contributions to national development. The performance contract will serve as a foundation for the implementation of various strategic programs of Udayana University going forward, in line with the policies of Kemdiktisaintek and Indonesia’s higher education transformation agenda.
