ICSGTEIS 2025 Brings Together Global Researchers to Discuss AI Innovations for Sustainable Energy at Udayana University

Denpasar — The Electrical Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University once again hosted the 6th International Conference on Smart-Green Technology in Electrical and Information Systems (ICSGTEIS) 2025, a biennial scientific conference that gathers researchers, academics, and global practitioners to discuss innovations in smart and sustainable technologies. The conference, themed “Harnessing Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Energy toward a Net Zero World,” took place at Prama Sanur Beach Hotel, Thursday (October 9, 2025).

The event was officially opened by Prof. Ir. I Nengah Sujaya, M.Agr.Sc., Ph.D., Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of Udayana University, representing the Rector of Udayana University. In his opening remarks, Prof. Sujaya expressed his appreciation to all participants, keynote speakers, and organizers for making this international event possible.

“I am truly inspired by the energy and enthusiasm of everyone gathered here for this meaningful event. On behalf of the Rector of Udayana University, I warmly welcome you all to Bali,” he stated.

Prof. Sujaya further emphasized the importance of global collaboration in developing innovative solutions to address current challenges, particularly in the pursuit of sustainable energy.

“This conference serves as an essential platform for sharing best practices and innovative ideas. Cross-border collaboration like this represents a concrete step toward a smarter and more sustainable world,” he added.

Meanwhile, Prof. Ni Made Ary Esta Dewi Wirastuti, General Chair of ICSGTEIS 2025, in her report expressed pride in the successful continuation of the conference, which has now reached its sixth edition since it was first held in 2016. She noted that all proceedings from previous conferences have been indexed in IEEE Xplore, while the 2023 edition achieved a significant milestone with its proceedings indexed in Scopus — marking international recognition of ICSGTEIS’s academic quality.

“This year, we received 149 paper submissions, and after a rigorous review process, 74 high-quality papers were accepted for presentation — with an acceptance rate of below 50 percent. In total, 214 authors contributed to this year’s scientific publications,” Prof. Dewi revealed.

She also added that ICSGTEIS 2025 attracted participants from 18 countries across various continents, including Indonesia, India, Iraq, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan, Turkey, France, Italy, Romania, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Peru, Algeria, Benin, and Somalia.

“This global participation reflects the relevance and diversity of our academic community. ICSGTEIS is not only a platform for scientific exchange but also a celebration of cross-cultural innovation,” she said.

The opening ceremony was also attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University, members of the advisory board, program coordinators within the Faculty of Engineering, as well as I Made Agus Dharmadiatmika, Chairperson of the Udayana University Anniversary Committee. Also in attendance were representatives from the industry and strategic partners, including the General Manager of PLN Bali Region, GM of PLN Icon Plus, GM of Telkomsel, and the Head of the Provincial Office of Manpower and Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) of Bali.

The event continued with a plenary session featuring three distinguished international keynote speakers: Prof. Jean-Marie Bonnin from IMT Atlantique & IRISA, France; Prof. Takako Hashimoto from Chiba University, Japan; and Prof. Ilsun You from Kookmin University, South Korea. The session was moderated by Dr. I Nyoman Satya Kumara as Session Chair.

In closing, Prof. Dewi expressed her hope that ICSGTEIS 2025 would continue to inspire future research and innovations in green technology.

“May this conference inspire innovation, strengthen collaboration, and bring real impact to the world,” she concluded.
